The same has happened here in New Zealand.... if you check out http://www.ufocusnz.org.nz/ in the Sightings section there is a list for each year, 2012 had the highest amount of sightings in a few years combined... if only there was a worldwide collaborative website that this information could be placed so we could see the bigger picture regarding the increase in sightings.

Pretty simple really. A year or so ago they decided that if the governments wouldn't disclose, they they would just start allowing more sightings, a LOT more sightings. Nighttime, day time, big small, you name it.
I have seen at least two unmistakable UFOs over the last few months.

Yes, there are aliens studying us. The number of UFO's seen in Texas has tripled in the past five years. And these craft aren't behaving like the top secret projects from the government via Area 51 and such. These craft (and its' occupants) appear to be waiting for something or some event to take place, and at the same time they seem to be studying us and the planet. I really sense that they are somewhat amused, but at the same time they are also depressed with what they see.
