My dear Friends,
Many among us go on practising religion, but yet they find that there is no transformation. IS it because most of us are dedicated not so much to religion as to a particular sect, group, community.
Today what many of us adopt is not religion but a mere hereditary tradition-i.e,without independent prudence or discrimination.
It is more of reinforcement of tradition than SEARCH OF TRUTH AND SELF REALIZATION.
Many of us are draining their limited resouces- time and energy, in scoring over each other, MINE IS BETTER THAN YOUR'S, rather than realizing that all paths leads to one destination. .”
Is such an attitude a RESULT of incomplete knowing of the REAL teachings?
I would like to share a small story with you.

Once a seeker asked an enlightened master- "Master, We do religious worship, observe rituals, attend satsanga (spiritual discussions), listen to religious discourses " but still there is no apparent change in our lives and conduct. WHY IS IT SO?
After a deep thought master asked the seeker to fetch him a bottle of wine, before he answered to his question.
The seeker obliged.
Then the enlightened master asked all his disciples to have a mouthful of wine from the bottle and spit immediately.
All the disciples followed the master's order i.e, sipped a mouthful and spit it immediately.
Master then asked his disciple- Is anyone feeling INTOXICATED?
The disciples replied- OH! Master, how is this possible? We had just had a mouthful and spit it immediately and the wine has not descended beyond our throat. HOW COULD THERE BE INTOXICATION?
Master smiled and addressed the seeker- Have you got the answer to your question, my beloved one?
The seeker replied- It is not clear to me, Master.
The Master then said-' It is same with religion today, it is taken up in a big way and disgorged instantly.It does not go below our throat and touch our heart,then how could it bring in transformation.To help the percept of religion go down the throat, it is necessary to develop intellectual and reasoning power; a coordination of two is necessary and this, along with direct insight, characterizes both philosophy and the philosopher."

in the bible, specifically the old testament, whic h jesus endorsed 100%, you are a piece of property, with no rights to be sold and traded. you are commanded to honour thy mother and father, even if they abuse you. commanded to never want to better yourself "“You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.”
so if someone has something that you see that would be better for your life and family you are fobidden to want it.
or this wonderful one
You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
which means you cant make models of the solar system, of make models of animals, cant make representations of anything, because if you begin to understand the universe you live in youll find that this god guy is pretty much a d-bag, he even admits he is jealous and does not want you listening to other gods, of which there MUST be many according to the bible other wise there wouldnt be the need to command listening to only him, or the fact that god makes man in "our" image and not "my" image ;)
no instructions required to know that killing is bad and stealing is bad. no need to terrorize children with promises of eternal hellfire because they dont listen to their parents even when their parent may command them to do something questionable.
the book served the superstitous uneducated tribal middle eastern people of 5,000 years ago and really has no place in todays world other than as a showing of the ridiculousness of some of our human history and as an example to prevent future epochs from being controlled by people.

WE SHOULD LOOK INTO THE ESSENCE.
well dont forget the part in the bible where jesus says you are with me or against me, which is opposite to his love everyone message.
if you are going to study the bible seriously i challenge you to count how many people god orders the death of, vs how many "satan" orders (satan is used as the term adversary, and lucifer appears only once and is the name of a king)
or how those who follow the lord and are his chosen like say Lot for instance would give his virgin daughter to a mob to be raped, to save ANGELS who are immortal from the same fate.
if you wish to truly study the book leave your beliefs behind and just read it like you would a text book.
