this is a paradigm shift in animal - animal - human relations.

As humanity dispenses with its fear, Gaia and all that roam upon her surface respond in kind.

we say that animals are compassionate.

they are now being given the opportunity to show their true Divine nature.

I think it depense on human mind set : for example, you treat an animal with compassion, kindness and loving energies without any whips and shouting orders to perform tricks for example, and animal knows that by instinct. That animal knows its treated with respect and "they" do not attack......................

I would be afraid as tigers can be moody and I wouldn't like to end up on their plate but then again some wild animals have become tame and friendly as pets following the laws of unconditional love, compassion and gratitude.
