The reason people become easily brainwashed, is that most actually need their mind cleaned. Perhaps this is the reason deprogramming people though media does not reach everybody but simply becomes another cult fiction. Real world emotive issues presented with alternatives or the need for them has a much greater practical impact. Cult brainwashing must be examined and understood through cult fictional media, the nuance is how true meanings veil themselves as other ones, to transport the audience to a completely fabricated reality. Combine brainwashing techniques with this same creative device in a creeds litany, and a cult becomes successful on the same principle as the niche medias, only on a collective scale of humanity.

No, that's not it at all.
I've studied sects, cults and woo-woo salesmen for more than 20 years and have participated in countless meatings and masses.
The primary conclusion I've drawn from that is that it is the lack of education that is the problem.
In short: People gets easily brainwashed since their minds are already (too) clean, and needs to be filled with more experience and education.

No real deprogrammer would EVER try to use a mass media to deprogram people.
When deprogramming brainwashed people, you will need to do a specific (de)program that is adapted to each individual in the process. A method that works for one will not work for two.
It can't be done through mass-means.
The only thing that is possible to do through mass-means is to delude people who lack the sufficient understanding, education and reasonable doubt to see through the scam.

Sorry I went outside your guidebook to dismantling cults, I was speaking in more generalized terms. I was not speaking about deprogramming people from cults, I use the word as it relates to decentralized literature and to the rest of your reply I say good luck, I think you misinterpreted every point you raised about my statement.

As a "specifics"-guy, I'm obliged to attack and dismantle all views that are based on generalisation. I've been a victim of generalisation more times than I can count in my life whereas I'm basically at war with everyone who use Generalisation as a Tool for Mass Explanations.

I will, since you seem to require an explanation. Firstly understand I have RSI which makes typing difficult, So I try to be brief, if that makes my statements somewhat ambiguous, I don't really have the ethical problem you seem to with viewing things individuals create as not relevant. I form opinions from the similarities I find through all medias, and what they say about commonalities in human traits. I have been involved in the actual helping of people escape cults, so I do have experience in the area, which is why I make it a part of my life to talk about, I do not see how being non specifically anti-cult can be negative in a world which must gear away from it, which as you say, is full of the clean slate mind that absorbs brainwashing, my view that "decentralized" anything that would not find it's way onto a school literature advisory board for example, or even state banned literature if you were to extend the principle to the realm of things not considered fiction but dangerous thinking, you get closer to the idea that is behind the generation of a cult from nothing, which is what all authors are doing. I hope you are successful in your endeavors to free people that have become enslaved, I am not trying to take anything away from that, only add a discussion I have not heard raised properly before, that cult media and religious cults are connected in function, not in physical reality.
