the Mayan and the Egyptian beleifs

One thing that towers far higher than the Egyptian phyramids is their beleif in afterlife. This is because such a gigantic structure was buld to burry Pharaos! How could a sane person spend his twenty years of building something for a corpse? Or did this people have some proof for the afterlife?That is just one of the wonders. The second one is the similarity between the ancient Mayans and the Egyptians. How did they end up developing similar beleives?Just some few explanations comes to me;1.)They might have both had a revelation by a supernatural being cabable of moving from Egypt to America.2.)There might have been some advanced means of transport and/communication similar to our modern3.)They might have had telepathic connection4.)Similar humans under similar conditions will invent similar mythsRegardless of which of the four, I certainly have something to go make me amazed!
