About the meaning of Jesus` crucifixion there has been written since the event itself. Early sources are the gospels and the apostle Paul.

We could really discuss about any sacrificial character or atonement aprroach of Jesus` death - I will not do that in here.

I`d rather like to point to something more real and basic in human experiences, and I do not see anything speaking against such view.

I consider the story of hanging Jesus on a cross basicly in terms of "angry ego games".

It is something happening all the time and everywhere, and the cross is a heavy symbol of it. It happens everywhere, that people, being deeply innocent, honest and right like a clear beam of light shining in the darkness, without saying something and without harming anyone are deeply hated.

Even their pure presence is offending and embarrassing to some people. This goes to the point of really wanting to beat and kill the light person.

And the mass effect of people being in a mass is shouting: Crucify him! This tells the story in the gospel. A couple days before they hailed him, now they are ready to hang him on the cross.

I myself was involved in a heavy mobbing case. Even today - it happened over a year before - I am not really able to get my memories together for knowing, what happened. In that year I have encountered a couple people having had the same experience.

Our western society is deeply sick in hating and hanging people on the cross, symbolicly speaking. In Germany people are almost crazy in being trapped in jealousy and envy.

The cross experience makes Jesus a friend of those, who suffer such things. The rich and beauty made of Jesus a superstar standing for blessing: getting rich and having success. You may remember Jimmy Swaggard and Benny Hinn, those absolutely unconscious gangsters misusing Jesus for the sake of their money.

The cross of Jesus is a deep symbol for those who struggle in life and have no lobby. It is a deep rememberance, that the father of Jesus he calles "Abba"  has to do with compassion and empathy. This is the teaching Jesus gave his friends - compassion and empathy rather than success, high status and knowing-all-mentality.
