The T in TV stands for trouble times three. TV makes a mess of your mind.
TV is full of Tripe.
I recently went without TV for 3 months and I realised watching it was just a destructive habit. It used to own the living area but when it went away I didn’t miss it at all. Thus re-sensitised, when it came back I couldn’t see much worthwhile in what it had to offer.
I found sitcoms were mostly based on put downs, ridiculous reality shows abound, current affair are all about politics and conflict, and that the many garish advertisements warred with my peace. I didn’t find much worth watching.
TV is traumatic.
Watching the News as an entrée to an evening in is traumatising. It’s all about real murder and mayhem. According to the News fear is on the streets and disaster is all they have time to mention. There is no solution and watching doesn’t help.
After the News it’s all advertisement infused nonsense. Reality competitions are edited lies. Crime is common. Comedy is crude and cruel. Content is filtered by media owners and very largely sourced from the despotic empire of the USA in its last inglorious death throes. Their version corrupts our vision.
TV’s trance is a terrible trip.
Trance is a normal pleasant and productive state of mind. Unfortunately it mix’s all too well with Television. TV easily creates deep trance and in turn nets a disastrous result.
When you fall naturally into a trance your mind readily receives and accepts ideas and information. When the content that you’re entranced by is the TV’s awful potpourri of the worst of the world it’s like downloading a computer virus that ruins your capacity to think well.
Now imagine a world where your family stopped the daily dose of horror and hate and learned by interacting with each other and the real world instead. Imagine our community refusing to buy into the constant commercial competitive crazy crap and instead people watched TV judiciously and occasionally.
Turning off the TV is a powerful revolutionary action you can contribute to uplift the world. With much less TV our world would be a dramatically different and better place.

Good post! Agreed!
I quit watching TV like years ago, my tv set is laying somewhere in the basement succesfully picking up dust so to speak. I don't feel like i know less just becouse i don't watch news and other bs, not one bit. Actualy i get to find out all the news and stuff i need via pc or just by picking up warious rumours spreaded by people and not nescesarily do i believe everything others say. When if it comes to politics and state of economy affairs, frankly, i don't realy give a damn about it all, for it's only bad news to plague ones mind. Sometimes i'm better off knowing nothing than the whole bunch of bs stories as well us faked so called news.
I "threw my tv out the window" 20 years ago this month, & it was one of the best things I ever did for my spiritual growth & sanity. Now, if I find myself in the same room that a tv is on, like a waiting room, etc, it is Extremely Uncomfortable; Painful actually, & I have to leave that area.
Do your Self a favor, Throw your tv out the window, like I did.... You will be mighty glad you did, (after you get on the other side of your withdrawal symptoms).
Peace & Blessings All, StarmanDon
