Ladies and gentlemen, I doubt many of you are fully aware of what you are claiming. One of such ladies lives right besides my house considering a priestess working "with the matrix as healer".

Another one was my friend, a wild and wonderful guy, but with big problems of his temper. He claims to be a priest and healer.

I really don`t know, where this all comes from. On German spiritual sites I often read messages, especially from females, calling themselves priestesses.

Generally, I see no problem with that. If there where not that little glow of ego shining through the subject.

Now a priest is a person with a mandate performing offerings and sacred acts. Please have a close look to the excellent wikipedia article here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priest).

Usually a priest will be ordained. I was ordained as lutheran minister, which is actually denied by catholic church, but this is another topic. Interestingly, Luther recovered an important point - an ordained minister according Luther is not a priest, but "primus inter parens", the first under many others. A lutheran minister is ordained in order to have order, not more. He is not a mediator between God and humans, as catholic tradition claims, but a special educated person being elected by a congregation. Luther instead reminded a biblical word of "the priesthood of all believers in Christ" - by Christ all believers are ordained as priests in spreading the word of God and living acoording to the gospel.

From this backround I have always understood, why I am not a priest in catholic tradition. This prevented me from claiming any ontological difference to other people. I considered myself an ordained minister, but not separated from people. I am one of them, not more and not less. The only special experience I made is the trust people had to me letting me guard many of them to the threshold of death, which I really love to do...

Now I really ask myself, why some spiritual people are wild of getting considered priest or priestess. Are they aware of who provided any ordination for them? Who ordained them? In the Christ case of a "priesthood of all believers" the subject is clear - in the cultic community of Christ believers it is the subject of their belief who ordained them. But which subject of any other cultic community ordained their priests? Mother Gaia? Kryon? Mother Nature? St. Germaine?

Again, I do not simply criticize any priesthood, but I want to know, which living subject ordaind them. My neighbor - she is btw a blonde and very nice looking and lovely-crazy lady in her 30s - is a little slow-minded in any answer. Her main words are always: "All is fine, let only love and light reign!" And the wild man I mentioned above is an expert on Crowley and Castaneda performing some patchwork of indian and Crowleyan rituals. After my stroke he said, I wold not need any pills from the doc but have some special tea mixes he provided. And because I didn`t trust him in this case, he quit our friendship...

Why the hell are some people so hot being priests and priestesses? Because this sounds so special in our technocratic and impersonal times? Because priesthood implies wonders and amazement? But maybe it is also a subtle kind of ego game. Who knows...
