  I'd say that one can charge a fee if they like, I am not the authority or judge on how they choose to operate their life works. It would be nice if everything had no monetary costs, but we're not quite there yet. I have worked as a "healer" and got paid, also done lots of healing "work" without ever asking for anything.
  
  Reducing healing work down to a monetary value seems like a mistake that negates the spiritual aspects. Also it kind of seems like the healers are being a target here... if there are real healers out there, let them be rewarded for every good work and let nobody convince you that your sharing of your special abilities is not worth a million dollars ot more. Until money is not used as an exchange system, let money be used freely as an exchange for healing, if one wishes. If not, don't use it... do whatever you feel comfortable with.
  
  The last thing we'd want is if the real "healers" decided to stop working... we can use all the healers we can find right now... so charge away... if you like... or accept donations, or don't charge at all... but whatever the case may be, please continue to blossom all good healing works.

  The blunt answer is...

  NO

  a healing does not require a monetary honorarium....

  I'm not really interested in the needs of the healer... God will provide.. will God allow the

  healer to starve?

  we all have the basics and the needs what the world does really need is the love of the healer...

  We live in a world that currently has an operating system which involves the exchange of money which simply symbolizes the exchange of energy.  The healer is giving the receiver his or her energy and time and it would be nice to give them money for their energy exchange just like workers trade their time and labor for a paycheck. There's basically no difference between a healer asking for money than a secretary or grocery store clerk expects money.  Each person needs to get paid for their time and energy as we currently reside in an operating system of money. When that changes, we will use some other means for representing time, energy exchanges.  There is a point of balance that all feel, that balance of reciprocity that feels good to all.

    This is the old archaic method for the enslavement of humanity...

    and only the brave hearted people will figure out how to change it.

      True.  And the system needs to change for all simultaneously and healers needs to eat just like everyone else. So I would like to see some kind of system that operates without money at all.  Michael Tellinger is talking about Ubuntu, Contributionism, where everyone contributes and receives, gets their needs met (at a minimum).  Our current system does not provide for the needs of our population. Now that's a very primitive society. Like Michio Kaku says we are a Level 0 society.  

      Hopefully we'll figure it out ourselves but I think the positive ETs will reveal their systems to us and then it'll make sense and we'll implement something similar. Right now it seems no one can quite wrap their heads around a system without money and a governing system that actually works.  None of our governing systems actually work for the entire population. We live in a pyramid scheme and the ones at the top of the pyramid are the only ones who are rich and get all their needs met and more at the expense of those down the pyramid.  

      But it's not sustainable. The foundation is crumbling for needs are not being met for all so the top is draining the bottom, sucking it dry.

          Correct.  And when we realize the apparent other is the same as self, we'll be in a new paradigm.

          In the meanwhile, someone has to do the work and somehow food and energy needs met.  Love alone doesn't make those basic things happen. I live in a community in Maui, Hawaii and the New Age Movement is in full bloom here with many modern day hippies who come to realize they can't just live on air and they can't live on the beach cause the cops'll chase them away as they're spoiling tourism.

          Be here now. We need doable steps to get from here to there, practical ways of doing airy fairy else we accomplish nothing.

          We are living in a material world and the operating system is currently at a very dense level. Having lived through the 60s as a teenager I witnessed the love potential.  As a baby boomer, many of us may remember our idealistic ways.  Yet love succumbed to materialism as we are in bodies with material needs.  We love, whether we're in material or spiritual form.  But when it comes to needs being met for survival or physical or even emotional support, love isn't sufficient. 

          Look at our divorce rate. Look at how many are on the streets.

          So everyone, what is the new system for exchange and balancing reciprocity?  What are the practical steps for getting from a war-based competitive, hierarchical society to one of love, balance and support for all beings including the planet?

          As for mi casa is su casa - my house is your house, in a place where everyone's one step from living on the street, soon you'd be packed in mi casa 12 people high.  I've seen it.  No one can live that way.

  From my experience the spiritual healers who ask for specific donations, also appear as obvious cons.  The healers who refuse all donations appear to believe in what they are doing as it's own reward, and work through regular means for their physical needs.

  I don't charge for any energy healings I'm asked for.  After all, it's not me doing the healing!  It's the person requesting the healing that's doing the healing on their own body!  I'm just facilitating the energy flow.
