Salvia Divinorum Is Not Illegal

Recently I accidentaly came accros a substance termed salvinorin A. While the popularity of DMT, LCDs, marijuana etc, might convince you that they must me the most psychoactive substances known, but from the testimonies, it is clear that salvinorin A surpasses them!But then this raises two issues. One is why doesn't those who promot the usage of etheogens recomend salvinorin A. For instance, lets conscider Lyon Amber. You can google search: "marijuana reset.me" or "DMT reset.me". Sure you will get lots of stories. But now try "salvinorin A reset.me". You get no story! The next issue is that the fact that salvinorin A is legal in most parts of USA undermines the idea promoted by etheogens activists that USA is generaly at war with psychedelics because that government doesn't want people to 'awaken' spiritually!I have been skepticall about the letter explanation of the illegalisation of say marijuana ever since the activists told their story. This doesn't mean that I beleive that the ban is due to anything ethical at all. Since the spiritual experience following psychedelic usage is largely subjective, and those active in government banning are generaly not substance users themselves. It make sense to blame the ban on the ignorance of the inner benefits of those substances than on the blatant war with those benefits.When it comes to banning anything, it isn't (or at least it should not) be just a matter of 'this thing has dangerous side effects' etc. Infact everything that is of benefit is often potentially dangerous. Consider aeroplanes, cars, fire, electricity etc. We don't ban such even if they are a number one killer cause we value the other benefit. But when the 'other benefit' happens to be a spiritual one, our materialistic tending governments will obviously put a less value on it. Therefore it isn't governments are at war with spirituality. They just don't value it as compared with material gains. The fact that they haven't ban salvinorin A proves this.

I think that another reason that some entheogens were banned was because the pharmacy industry does not want the competition. Recently there was a move to class Kratom as a schedule 1 drug, but as far as I know this failed. As I understand many people use this non-addictive plant for pain relief. I agree that much of this banning is due to ignorance.... there was a big campaign against a lot of these entheogens and they were placed in the same category as heroin....the message from the government was that the use of any of these substances led to the use of heroin ....many people still believe this.

It is a complex situation and may have also had something to do with the fact that the government could not regulate or tax these substances.

Winger, there is also this story of the relationship between marijuana and hemp. Could it be that the mere treath of hemp to paper industry influence the illegalisation of canabis?

Then what reason do those states and countries offer for the ban of salvinorin A, for scientists say that there isn't any evidence that it is harmfull?

There is also the story of Mexican workers who smocked weed to be behind the ban. All these are quite unethical reasons to ban weed!

  Hemp is legal here...they use it to make clothes, rope and some other things ( I buy hemp seeds for bird food)......just a few small farms, not enough for paper. Cannabis is a strong medicine,,,it cures cancer, depression and anxiety. This would replace many pharmacy drugs.....the big pharmacy companies have much control in america. I don´t think the paper companies have this much control in america. But it is true that hemp is also banned in USA. Marijuana has become egal in many states in USA...for medical purposes and in a couple of states for recreational purposes. The vote next month may make it legal in more places.

Of course it is ignorance of spirituality that takes the big role. Understand it this way: what if aeroplanes rather took pple to some astral world. Then mainstream science doesn't aknowledge the reality of astral worlds. A single aeroplane accident might lead to banning aeroplanes simply because they donnot see that astral projection is worth the risk of even a single case of a careless pilot.

Then if someone say in the USA were to raise the issue that marijuana has spiritual benefit that worth some risk, he might even be accused of not considering the seperation of church and state! there isn't a good definition of 'religion'. it allows atheists and mainstream scientists to categorise spirituality under religion. Thus USA has unwittingly allowed atheists to manipulate the constitution and swing the pendulum to the other extreme!

I´m familiar with salvia divinorium. It is not true that it is totally legal in the USA for it is illegal in some states. ´´ Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, North Dakota, and Minnesota have so far passed laws prohibiting Salvia divinorum. In 2002 they did consider making it illegal at a federal level, but this failed. Countries where there is some form of control, include Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United States.^´´
