  • Dutch firm invented fold up hotel which comes complete with bathroom
  • The Flexotel is used at events across the world including Glastonbury
  • It can be packed up in just 10 minutes and provides 'affordable comfort'
  • Also used at motor racing events and even the London Olympic Games

A Dutch firm has invented a folding bedroom and bathroom which can be packed up and moved in just 10 minutes - meaning your hotel can be almost as portable as your holiday luggage.

The Flexotel collapsible hotel room is designed to provide quick and cheap accommodation to outdoor events like music festivals and is aimed at customers who do not enjoy getting their hands dirty by camping.

The rooms sleep up to two people and include electricity, lighting, basic furniture, linen and towels.

The fold up hotel was created by Hubert Von Heijden, CEO of Flexotels.

'They fulfill three important demands that people at events share,' said Mr Von Heijden.

'They want to have a good night's sleep, a lock on the door so that they can leave their things and they want to walk to the event site.

'Generally guests don't mind sharing joint showers and toilet blocks, but when staying for a longer time, guests prefer more privacy and comfort.

'That is when you long for your own bathroom,' he continued.

As soon as an event is finished the Flexotels can be easily folded up and up to 20 hotel rooms can be transported on a single lorry.

The Dutch company also offers an upgraded version which features fold-out rooms with a shower, hot water heater, toilet and sink, which are called Comfotels - which are due to launch this summer.

Mr Von Heyden said Flexotels respond to clients' demands for more comfort, especially when they are staying for a longer period of time.

He first launched his innovative concept five years ago and now the collapsible Flexotels are rented out at major events all over the world.

With names like Relax Rooms, Sleep on Site or Summer Suites they provide a luxury accommodation at music festivals like Lowlands, Rock Werchter, Rock Am Ring, the Sziget festival in Hungary, Glastonbury at the UK and Millstreet in Ireland.

Flexotels were also used at the 24h Le Mans, the Olympic Games in London and racing at Silverstone.
