After reading about wheat grass, I immediately thought of hemp. I eat it when it's available for many reasons.
1; for the high fiber. Other benefits range from nutrition to cars made from hemp. Some of the facts are; It has a short growing season so for those in a moderate climate can grow 2 to 3 crops a year.
2; easy to grow and does not require chemicals and fertilizer like most other crops
3; hemp oil can run your car with less emissions (Ford actually designed his automobile to run on hemp until the US outlawed it during prohibition.)
For those who think it will get you high..Wrong, if you rolled a joint the size of a telephone pole, you might get a small buzz.

Hemp provides both essential fatty acids (EFAs) needed in the human diet–linoleic (omega-6 fatty acid) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). These fats are "essential" because they cannot be manufactured in the body and so must be consumed as food. Hemp has an omega-6/omega-3 ratio of 3:1 which is closest to the optimum 4.0 average recommended by the World Health Organization for the human diet.

Hemp is an almost perfect food. As a crop, it does not rob the ground of trace minerals, like corn, and it requires no pesticide. Some of the US founding fathers were hemp farmers. The US Constitution & Declaration of Independence were written on hemp paper. Sadly, hemp interests lost out to lumber, even though hemp can be harvested in 10% of the time it takes to grow trees. Think of all the trees that could have been saved if we used hemp paper today.
It is legal in Canada also probably with a permit but it's not promoted enough for the average person to be aware of it. I would like to point out though, that hemp oil has very little THC and in the case of medicine use it is the marijuana plant that is needed due to a much higher THC content.
Hemp may very well be one of if not the most beneficial plants in our planets history, for many reasons the majority of which go pretty much unknown to the majority of humanity.

This man got cancer and healed it with hemp oil, and the documentary is about him growing hemp and freely disbursing the resulting hemp oil to other people who had cancer. The Canadian government has raided him a few times for it, because Heaven forbid we find a solid cure for cancer.

Wow, no that's one I didn't know about. I shall read up on that. Hemp got pushed into the drug category when the US started the drug war and related it to marijuana. Before then hemp rope was the only thing I was aware of that was made out of hemp and about 8 years ago I went into a store that was selling hemp seed and was enlightened about all the other quality's of hemp.

I forgot to mention that like a lot of the healthy foods for us, they don't taste so great so when I have the hemp hearts I mix a few tablespoons of seeds into my peanut butter and you cant even taste the hemp unless your into the nutty taste anyways.
