Is This Good for Me?

~The Great Council of the Grandmothers

Always ask this question,” the Grand Mothers said: “Is this good for me?

Ask yourself, does this feel good, or does that feel good? Ask the question

and then pay attention to how you feel. Your body will let you know the

answer. This question is important because what is truly good for you, is

good for everyone. When you choose what is right for you, you feed your

own heart and you feed the heart of the Universe.

“Contrary to what you may have been taught,” they said, “you are not

separate from one another. You’re not really separate from anyone or

anything, and because you aren’t, what serves you, always serves others

too.

“Many of you were told that paying attention to what is right for you,

choosing what pleases and suits you is selfish. That you should always

think of others and not be focusing on yourself. But we tell you that the

opposite is true. Whatever it is that truly fills your heart and makes you

content, makes you feel peaceful and happy, also fills the hearts of the

people in your life. Your own deep happiness graces everyone and

everything.

“Choose happiness for yourself and choose it also because your joy will

light many candles. Let the love and happiness within you shine,” the

Grandmothers said. “Let it shine and don’t hold it back. Choose happiness

and once you have chosen it, then let it flow from you to multiply itself all

over the Earth. It is your nature to live like this,” they said, “to live in light

and to spread light. It’s your nature to be the Beacon you were born to be.

So ask,” they said, “‘Is this good for me?’ and then proceed.”
