Brutus is a big K9, running about 200 lbs. He’s part Boxer, British Bull Mastiff mixer.
Casey thought I might like to know about this dog and his history. Glad I got to see this as it has really touched my heart and is why I’m sharing it with you today.
The images in this post were taken by his handler. In the first image you can see drool flying behind him as his master has some Milkbone treats and Brutus knows it.
Brutus’ handler decided it was best to duck around a tree just before Brutus reached him, just in case the big guy couldn’t get stopped, although he did.
Brutus – K-9 Congressional Medal of Honor Winner
Brutus was the recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor last year from his tour in Iraq.
His handler and four other soldiers were taken hostage by insurgents. Brutus and his handler communicate by sign language.
He gave Brutus the signal that meant ‘go away but come back and find me’. The Iraqis paid no attention to Brutus. Brutus did come back later and quietly tore the throat out of one guard at one door and another guard at another door.
Then Brutus jumped against one of the doors into the warehouse repeatedly until it opened. Once he was in Brutus untied his handler and they all escaped. He’s the first K9 to receive this honor.
If Brutus knows you’re okay he’s a big old lug and wants to sit in your lap. He also enjoys the company of cats.
Now you know who Brutus is allow him to show you how a dog gives a proper hug to a baby.
Instructions for properly hugging a baby – from a dog’s point of view:
1. First, uh, find a baby.
2. Second, be sure that the object you found was indeed a baby, by employing classic sniffing techniques.
3. Next, you will need to flatten the baby before actually beginning the hugging process.
4. The ‘paw slide’ = Simply slide paws around baby and prepare for possible close-up.
5. Finally, if a camera is present, you will need to execute the difficult and patented ‘hug, smile, and lean’ so as to achieve the best photo quality.
Now that’s a great doggy hug, so tender and loving.

Dogs are Telepathic, and would preciate us to be the same.
I wonder if dogs has a pea-nutt formed pineal.
Is the dog in the first picture the same as the dog in the others?
They look like different breeds to me. And haha, the one hugging the baby looks like the dog from Harry Potter. c:
So cute!!!!
Very very cute :) But I would still be careful with making sure the doggy was friendly ahah :)
