Most teachers refer to a higher self, yet some also refer to multiple higher selves (without explaining if they all exist in the same "dimension")
What is your opinion/experience?
Is higher self a distinct (astral-mental?) entity or a metaphysical analogy created to illustrate a principle rather than describe a genuine distinction. And do we possess multiple higher selves? Or one?
I suspect that ego , subconscious, higher self are analogies to help us understand how our consciousness (on earth) operates.
And that the "barriers" between them are indistinct rather than membranes (such as left-right hemisphere) .....
Being that ET's or Dolphins often do not seem to possess such distinctions within their consciousness
and that NDE or drug experiences seem to allow simultaneous-fluid perception.... leads me to suspect that subconscious-ego-higher self are not as distinct as we are led to believe.
Perhaps these are really more functions of the brain, than aspects of human consciousness..... perhaps there's no final answer,,,, and it's more a matter of perspective.
I know that channeled entities have surely touched on this, but their replies are typically directed to our conventions of understanding- language...
Anyway .... one or many higher selves.... (both? depending on ones perspective?)

I was mainly curious what others have heard-read-learned.
One higher self works fine for me, while here on earth.....but I was wondering what those who believed in multiple ones actually perceived, and if that truly conflicts with or can be resolved with the typical view.
More of a philosophical query that a practical one.
There is an amazing psychic-healer-teacher who professes we have multiple higher selves, on each dimension ...... evidently what he sees is a different thing than what others perceive as higher self, and it rather sounds that way. Should I take another of his seminars, I'll have to ask.
He sees other things most other psychics don't, but his abilities, in person, are certainly pretty awesome. There's no questioning that.

The way that I define the Higher Self is the absolute maximum potential that any person can have. Each person has their own Higher Self.
It is the absolute most advanced "future you". The one who holds all the cards.
If you were ever to become something more, your Higher Self would have already became that in advance, for you would not have been able to expand without drawing that expansion from the Higher Self. It is like the air you breathe.
So no... we each only have 1 Higher Self, since it is the umbrella for all of the many selves that consist of you.
The Higher Self is beyond Ascended Master, it is beyond Elohiem or Seraphim, it is beyond even being a Creator God.
The Higher Self is like the point just before a being would become merged completely with Oneness and become Source itself.
This is the infinity within each being, that Bashar refers to. . . the "Within the One is the Whole" aspect.
The concept of Twin Flames is derived from this principal actually. One being split into two, that makes a third. Each Twin Flame pair has their own Higher Selves but since they are split from the same being, they are also combined a Single Higher Self that both of them share in common.
If you don't know your higher self's name (I still don't for some reason) it is also referred to as the I AM THAT I AM, which is Abracadabra in the latin translation.
It is the name that was given to Moses when he was at the burning bush, and asked who he should invoke when commanding that the jews be set free from their slavery.
I believe the name El Shaddai references Source though (or "God" as I simply refer to).

I still feel having multiple-identical higher selves is a distinct possibility, if we conceive of there being many dimensions beyond the 3rd.....but this is a matter of perspective or semantics perhaps and presents no problem , in reality. Only philosophically.
Perhaps its a different aspect entirely than true higher self...as more than one teacher-seer has claimed to have seen this reality ...... and yes it's pointless to debate what another has perceived. There are so many views on divinity-cosmology even now.... Native American to Australian aboriginal to eastern mystics to Peruvian shaman ,etc.....each has a slightly different perspective and hierarchy of spiritual evolution.
As far as higher self being "the absolute most evolved aspect"" just before a being would become merged completely with Oneness" this too is a matter of belief.... and I cannot affirm or debate it from direct experience ..... but it's a workable enough concept... that needn't be answered while one is on earth.
I tend to shy away or question absolute-final statements like this ... but they're only words.
One higher self is quite enough to deal with .... in daily life
There have been times when I felt in touch with this aspect ,,,, when a question and the knowing were virtually simultaneous .... answers from lower self were also very fast but seemed to come from a different source....within me... and tend to be about more pragmatic-worldly issues.
I've never asked for a spirit's/guides name .... as claiming to be Abraham or from a star system means nothing.
Drunvalo related that occasionally the lower self may pose as higher self....yet "if asked , it will not lie about this"
Yeah there's actually an infinite number of higher dimensional selves. At some point you become an Ascended Master, and that master self may split off and be a ton of other selves. And become Elohiem and create worlds. And yada yada.
I mean Saint Germain apparently was also Merlin and they are the same spirit, but they have different personalities. So he obviously has multiple higher dimensional selves.
Of course you can interact and work with any of your higher dimensional selves.
The one I was talking about is just the one at the top of the ladder. I guess maybe the actual term for what I was saying is the Christ Self, but ive always associated with the Christ as something external so I shy away from it.
My good friend Star also explained that the concept I was describing is symbolized in india as the Shiva.
Drunvalo described an experience, where he saw a golden angel like being .... and talked to it once.... that it eventually appeared and merged with him.... upon which he understood it to be his higher self.
