Happy Earthday everybody! This was the scene at Fort Mason park in San Francisco after Earth Day activists were through partying.

I've seen this sort of situation over and over, I even stopped coming to such events becouse of this. More, how can we celebrate earth day when we see burger and burrito venders taking part of massive animal torture and pollution of the minds of consumers of such diet. Garbage left behind in such events, alone makes you wonder about hipocricy of such gatherings. And I wonder How many participants drove their cars instead of public transportation or bicycles.
We still need a lot of work to truly understand significance of Earth Day.

Same thing happened many times at tea party events-there were over a half million tea party activists in DC and some calling themselves tea prtiers held up signs/placards that were considered racist or ant-American and even hinted of violence against the fed gov and guess where the tv cameras were? You got it-propagandist media tv shills were filming the neg placards-what happened to Democracy?
anyone who is for green, should either boycott festivals or do it the eco friendly way. festivals cause so much waste production/pollution on a big scale. its like turning up to save the rain forest and writing save the tree's on a piece of cardboard. its a bit hypocritical i think one may say... :/
Hi Hannah-in the 7o's that 'crowd' was screaming global cooling, no kidding, then about the homeless then about the rain forest now about global warming-while some of this stuff is based in reality some body always cashes in on the sympathy-Al Gore has earned over 150 million on global warming speeches etc and he has also recieved 500 million in stimulus to build an electric car factory in Greenland, global warming has been convenient and profitable for him
exactly ... money money money, if there's away to make money outta someone or something. it will happen. No difference in these spiritual people and sites. sure there's spiritual people who actually put alot back into helping others. but unless you know exactly how they live you have no clue what's being spent where.

well...it depends... maybe they have prepared for that, and those who organized the party, had a clean up team ready for action after the party's finished...
we cant judge from just one pic....
but if this not the case, then it says a lot about human conditioning and mentality.... we have a long way to go...
(but whatever the case might be, this should not happen, anyway... each person, or group of people, must be responsible, and clean up after its own trash)..
p.s personally, i call Earth-Day, and any other (Insert title- Day)..pure BS...
someone always gets paid from fundraising-I mean it's a good concept-clean the Earth-but I know from experience that most donations to so called non profit orgs. kepp up to 90 cents on the dollar for salaries and overhead
