Google executive says humans will be AI hybrids starting around 2030

The youngsters will have to become artificially intelligent just to compete for jobs-

In the future, humans are going to be artificially intelligent.

That's the prediction of Ray Kurzweil, director of engineering at Google (GOOG), who spoke Wednesday at the Exponential Finance conference in New York.

Kurzweil predicts that humans will become hybrids in the 2030s. That means our brains will be able to connect directly to the cloud, where there will be thousands of computers, and those computers will augment our existing intelligence. He said the brain will connect via nanobots -- tiny robots made from DNA strands.

"Our thinking then will be a hybrid of biological and non-biological thinking," he said.

The bigger and more complex the cloud, the more advanced our thinking. By the time we get to the late 2030s or the early 2040s, Kurzweil believes our thinking will be predominately non-biological.

We'll also be able to fully back up our brains.

"We're going to gradually merge and enhance ourselves," he said. "In my view, that's the nature of being human -- we transcend our limitations."

Kurzweil, who is known as one the world's leading inventors, has predicted what the future will look like before. In the '90s, he made 147 predictions for 2009. In 2010, he reviewed his predictions, 86% of which were correct. He gave himself a "B" grade.

His correct predictions included that people would primarily use portable computers in 2009, that cables would disappear and that computer displays would be built into eyeglasses.

He did admit on stage Wednesday that he thought we'd have self-driving cars by 2009.

"Now that's not completely wrong," he said. "If I had said 2015, I think it would've been correct, but they're still not in mainstream use. So even the [predictions] that were wrong were directionally correct."

For those concerned with artificial intelligence taking over the world, Kurzweil said we have a moral imperative to keep developing the technology while controlling for potential dangers.

"As I wrote starting 20 years ago, technology is a double-edged sword," he said. "Fire kept us warm and cooked our food but also burnt down our houses. Every technology has had its promise and peril."

One thing also that seems to elude these people is that since all these knowledge in computers ultimately originate from human brains and him observing the world etc, if we wish to improve our intelligence, we donnot even need computers at all. We only need to interconnect all our brains directly to form a biollogical internet. Then we can as well drop supercomputers to museums, they will be as good as abuccus, barbage machines etc.

To illustrate what I am saying, consider when I want to know of updates going on in CERN research. They are first typed to computer then they go to internet then I eventually read them. But if we can interface brains directly to machines, what will be the need for all that process? I can tap directly to the brain of the experimentalist in CERN!

So other than reducing our thinking to computer, the tapping machines to brains might eliminate the need for computers at all!! As a matter of fact, the memory of a SINGLE human being has been shown to beat the entire sum total of the current supercomputers hundred times!!

That was just an illustration. My main point is how to get the information. That is to say via tapping the brains instead of the comps.

Or let me illustrate it this way; lets say I am an highschool physic student and am in test. I encounter some realy touch math. but if our brains are interconnected as it were a biological internet, I only need to tap to Hawking Kaku or Susskind's brain and do the math like a mad guy! So if our brains are interconnected directly, we are all geniuses without the need for computers!

Perharps what is cool about nanobots is when virtual reality is directly connected to the brain. This will bring about an experience just like astral projection but in which we can interact with other people accross the world as though they were just there with you! In future, we may nolonger need to travel at all!

Perharps astral worlds etc is something that we will create in future using a simulation. It is a virtual world. After all perharps this world we see is equally virtual, an hologram like projection. You are not necesarily very near to the people you interact with such as your family any more than you are near to any other person across the universe. 'Nearness' and 'farness' can be illusory.

  our physical brains are super computers-all we need to do is align ourselves with the Light and eventually we can know everything -access the akashic records-this ai will limit knowledge to only the 3d material world
