so... chickens can run free but bunnies and gerbils and hamsters are okay to be caged? Or does the banning rule just mean they need a bigger caged space instead of a tiny cage? Because people have chicken coups that seem pretty big... like a chicken house.

The next step after your suggestion, Krishna, would probably be to work toward banning pesticides in foods and what not. People may initially rebel against organic goods, but it will be far worth it.
Thank you for this post.
Much Love,
Wes :)
3rd Step like Wes suggested is to ban pesticides in food
4th Step would be to ban Floride
6th Step would be to ban GMO products
7th Step would be to ban tin food
7th Step would be to ban plastic containers
And other steps I have in mind
Kids can't take glass containers to school.
I don't see plastic containers getting banned because I like them and I'm the center of the universe. =O Just kidding. (haha, it's okay, if you believe in oneness that means you're the center of the universe too ^.~)
But seriously, more and more plastic containers are becoming recyclable. How about there be a law where recycling is mandatory and fines are assessed for those who break the law (after education of what is and is not recyclable, probably charts that people can put on their fridges)? Obviously there would have to be programs in place for recycling pick up offered in all communities and then jobs created to observe regular trash to make sure recyclables aren't overlooked. But there are so many issues with this because not all communities even have trash programs, let alone recycling programs.
Plastic containers are just so nifty. Then again, I live in a household where everything is recycled so I have no guilt when it comes to the plastic container things we buy.
Now.. about that ban on cleaning products... America doesn't even have a ban on that. I think first, the companies that make the "bad for the environment products" need to figure out a way to start making "environmentally friendly products" before a ban can be initiated, otherwise you're essentially putting companies and people out of work.
But before that happens... something needs to be done to convince people that "environmentally friendly products" are just as clean as "the bad ones"... because let me tell you... I've been using "friendly products" for years now (but only because I'm not in charge of acquiring them), and I still have a little voice in the back of my head that goes, "I still think the other stuff gets it cleaner"... it's not about removing the appearance of the "dirt"... it's more about the invisible things you can't see. And I know there's a whole debate about how you shouldn't kill all the invisible things because they'll help make your immune system stronger and blah blah blah... BUT... I still feel my toilet bowl is cleaner when using "the bad stuff" (and I'm going to admit that every once in a while, I sneak scrubbing bubbles into the house). Sure, these are personal preferences, maybe even a little OCD... but that's because I still haven't seen anything to convince me that the "earth friendly stuff" (which is the main "staple" in my household) is just as effective. Same goes for when I'm cleaning dishes by hand after handling raw eggs or raw meat... I still feel safer using a dish soap that says anti-bacterial compared to the one that says, "environmentally safe". However, I think there might be expensive products that are environmentally safe that also have antibacterial in it... but in our household, it really is about the cost.
And even if there are proofs of these things out in the world, it's just not popular enough for me to have seen it. And I can think of a million other things to do than look something like that up. It's one of those things that needs to be shoved in people's faces, imo. Like commercials and billboards and bumper stickers, but people don't really want a bumper sticker about cleaning products... at least.. I have yet to see one as such.
Now, I don't share this so someone can lecture me and preach to me and tell me why I'm stupid or dumb or close minded because I like using "the bad stuff". You can't really expect anything you're going to say to change my mind, specially in such a "holier than thou" manner. I share it, so that people realize why there are people who still use "the bad stuff". Why consumers still buy "the bad stuff".. this way, people who are trying to initiate change in this subject matter, have an idea of what the target audience they're trying to persuade.
And please, lecturing me will get you no where. I live in a household where people complain when someone uses face or body scrubs with the little exfoliating balls in the crème because those little balls go down the drain and then exist forever in the oceans. So believe me when I say, I've already heard it, I already know, and I practice "safe product using" 99% of the time.
Also, the environmental friendly stuff really is more expensive. But that could potentially change if something is done so that all companies stop making "the bad stuff" and start making the environmentally friendly stuff. There are more coupons in the weekly mail for bad stuff than good stuff... in fact I rarely see the good stuff.
