Creating A Bond With Divine Presence

For miracles to happen, prayers to be answered, and life to be transformed, one of the most vital aspects is having a bond with your Divine.

Like any meaningful relationship, this bond does not form instantly; it takes intention, time, and care. This holds true regardless of who you worship. As Sri Bhagavan has said, "God is personal," and your relationship with the Divine is uniquely your own to create.

Right now, humanity is living at the end of the Iron Age, the most challenging age—one that distances people the most from the Divine. Yet paradoxically, it is also one of the easiest ages in which to intentionally establish a bond with the Divine.

You may consciously choose the type of relationship you wish to have with the Divine Presence—whether as a family member, a personal friend, or anyone else with whom you feel a strong, supportive connection—whichever feels most natural to you.

Once you have chosen this relationship, it is important to relate to the Divine in the same manner you would naturally relate to the person you have chosen to base it upon. Your intentions and expectations directly shape the bond you cultivate with the Divine.

Among all the ways to relate to the Divine, the foundation of any meaningful bond is friendship and trust. Whatever form your chosen relationship takes, have a genuine friendship with your Divine, rooted in trust.

Deepening Your Bond

There are simple steps you can take to help you deepen your bond with the Divine.

Every day, spend seven minutes in conversation with the Divine—just as you would speak to a parent, spouse, sibling, or best friend. This is a time to share openly what is in your heart, from the events of daily life and your hopes and dreams to the smallest, most ordinary moments. It is like sitting down for a cup of coffee and a chat with your favorite person.

This conversation can take place during the first step of the Three-Step Soma Process, whether you are working out, sitting in traffic, or quietly at your altar with a Sri Murthi.

You can speak either out loud or silently in your mind. It doesn’t matter where it takes place or what you say. What matters is the sharing and your intention to build a deep and lasting relationship.

There is no judgment or punishment here, only unconditional love and support. As this bond deepens, the miracles in your life will naturally increase. You will begin to see that you and the Divine are co-creators of your destiny.

Prayer is another powerful way to nurture this bond. If you are new to this path, begin with a small need or desire. When that prayer is answered, take time to notice it and offer heartfelt gratitude. In fact, you may want to jot it down in a journal.

Gratitude opens the door to more miracles and strengthens the bond. Over time, as your bond with the Divine deepens, you can begin to pray for greater things.

Noticing each answered prayer helps you recognize how deeply you are loved and supported by the Great Compassionate Light, Sri Amma Bhagavan.

Sri Bhagavan has said that They are here to serve you. Recognizing this truth through the miracle of answered prayers naturally deepens your bond with Them and awakens a greater surrender and trust from the heart.

"The more you recognize the hand of Grace in your life, the more it arrives - and there is no end to it." - Sri Bhagavan

Strengthening Your Connection

Having a Sri Murthi—a photograph that carries the living presence of Sri Amma Bhagavan—is another way to strengthen your connection. If you also hold another form of the Divine outside of Sri Amma Bhagavan, spend time building a bond with both.

The stronger your bond with Sri Amma Bhagavan, the more They can bestow. Because They are the Avatars who grant enlightenment and wish to fulfill every sincere desire, cultivating a deep connection with Them is especially important.

Praise is a universal element of all spiritual traditions. Singing and dancing to the Divine is a joyful way to connect and show love, something that is truly pleasing to the Divine.

Sri Bhagavan has said that even praise that is inauthentic makes Them very happy. The skill level of your singing or dancing does not matter; what shines through is what is in your heart. There are no rules here—only the joy you feel for your Divine. Such sincere expression naturally strengthens the bond you are building with the Divine.

Other ways to deepen this bond include doing the Soma Process with the prayer for building a connection, lovingly cleaning your altar, and cleaning your home as an act of love and devotion on the day before Darshan with Sri Bhagavan.

Making offerings at the altar, performing aarti, and doing seva to support the Golden Age Movement community in whatever way you are called are also powerful acts. Faith amplifies the experience of God, and each of these practices nurtures and strengthens your relationship with the Divine when performed with sacredness and intention.

Living Fully in Presence

As you consistently cultivate this bond, your faith and trust will deepen. Life becomes richer and more rewarding, full of miracles and transformation. The Divine becomes more present in your life, and you begin to live more fully in that presence. Gradually, life unfolds naturally, without you even asking, as Grace guides every step and orchestrates all things for the highest good.
