The carcasses of around 500 red-winged blackbirds were found littering a quarter-mile stretch of road in Pointe Coupee, The Advocate reported.
The state borders Arkansas where some 3,000 blackbirds died in unexplained circumstances three days ago.
The remains of some of the birds found dead in Louisiana are being taken away for testing.
A woman several hundred miles away in Kentucky has also reported finding dozens of dead birds in her garden.
The mass deaths in Beebe, Ark, Arkansas, have puzzled scientists and wildlife experts.
Witnesses reported seeing the birds falling from the sky late on December 31 into early January 1.
Around 100,000 fish were also found dead along a river 125 miles away although scientists are not linking the cases.
Officials are looking at various possibilities as to why the birds dropped dead - including being startled by fireworks, stress or hit by hail or lightning.
Tests on the birds found in Arkansas showed they suffered internal injuries that formed blood clots leading to their deaths, The Associated Press reported.
US scientists believe New Year's Eve fireworks may have forced the birds to fly low to avoid explosions, leading them to collide with objects.
High winds and tornadoes also struck Arkansas on December 31, with the hardest-hit area more than 150 miles to the west of Beebe.

The sun reversed polarity on Jan 1. This completely reversed the magnetic pull on the earth, I will try to find the links again about the sun. This is from NASA, it is not made up. The birds and fish use the magnetic frequencies of the earth to navigate and thus were completely lost and falling into each other. What I don't understand is how our media could completely fail to investigate something of this magnitude... they have totally dropped the ball on this one; don't believe ANYTHING they say to you!

This link will show the archived sun info from Jan 1, I just can't paste that link directly without downloading a program first.

My question is what the heck is this going to do long term to those people who count on fish and birds for a living, and if it affects the animals then what is it doing to us?

Master DK talks about the cosmic fire and our sun affecting our kundalini... very interesting read, folks.
Lets pray that this is going to be a positive thing and not one of sorrow, best to you all, friends.
Double dose Amelia! Hmm obviously it's got to go with gravity! Maybe what killed the fishtoo??

Reports are now coming in from all over the WORLD – Brazil, Italy, NZ, etc. -- and it's not just certain species of birds and fish. Of course mainstream media is not even reporting it except in separate bits and pieces. CNN had just a ticker today on 2 million fish dead in Maryland, like that's no big deal. British and Chinese experts are pointing to magnetic earth changes.

Mohawk Prophecy of the Seventh Generation
According to the prophecy of the Seventh Generation, seven generations after contact with the Europeans the Onkwehonwe would see the day when the elm trees would die. The prophecy said that strange animals would be born deformed and without the proper limbs. Huge stone monsters would tear open the face of the earth. The rivers would burn. The air would burn the eyes of man. According to the prophecy of the Seventh Generation the Onkwehonwe would see the time when the birds would fall from the sky. The fish would die in the water. And man would grow ashamed of the way that he had treated his Mother and Provider, the Earth. Finally, according to this prophecy, after seven generations of living in close contact with the Europeans, the Onkwehonwe would rise up and demand that their rights and stewardship over the Earth be respected and restored.
According to the wisdom of this prophecy, men and women would one day turn to the Onkwehonwe for both guidance and direction. It is up to the present generation of youth of the Kanienkehaka to provide leadership and example to all who have failed. The children of the Kanienkehaka are the seventh generation.

I was so glad to find your discussion - people in my office yesterday were saying it's the end of days. The Norway autopsies reveal the birds died from external blows and suffered internal injuries according to CNN! Also in the news was that an unidentified object was shot down in Israeli restricted airspace. Media reports it was mechanized and the government reports it was probably a party balloon and they haven't found the debris. Is this coincidental?
(CNN) -- A large number of dead birds were found in the city of Falkoping, Sweden, Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to a press release on the website of the Swedish National Veterinary Institute.
Autopsies were performed on five of the birds. The institute said they died due to "sudden, hard external blows," according to the press release. They had no signs of infection or other illnesses, and there were no external signs indicating what killed them.
"We have determined that the birds have died from severe internal bleedings caused by external blows," said the Institute's Marianne Elvander.
A similar unusual incident occurred in Arkansas on New Year's Eve. Thousands of red-winged blackbirds and starlings were found dead over a square-mile area in the town of Beebe.
In a separate incident, some 500 red-winged blackbirds, starlings and sparrows were found dead Monday morning in the southern Louisiana community of Labarre.
