I've never built a merkaba... but according to my dreams I have one.
You don't need a merkaba to "fly anywhere you like" in your dreams (or head if you're awake). I fly all the time in my dreams with just my body.
But just because you dream something, doesn't mean it's real. To convince yourself that everything in your dreams is real, is like saying everything in your imagination is real.
