Ted Cruz: Obama Plans on Border Surge ‘Continuing Indefinitely’
President Obama’s request for $3.7 billion in supplemental funding amounts to an “admission” that he plans for the influx of immigrant children to “continue indefinitely,” according to Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas).
Cruz said that only five percent of the funding would provide for “boots on the ground” along the southern border. “This is an HHS and social services bill that is entitled border security to make it appear as if it’s responding to the problem,” Cruz told National Review Online.
“But this supplemental bill is an admission by the president that he has no intention of solving this problem, and, indeed, that he anticipates it continuing indefinitely, because he is simply asking for money to deal with those kids who are coming after they’ve been brutalized, rather than taking the necessary steps to prevent them from coming here in the first place, to prevent them from being victimized,” Cruz also said.
The Center for Immigration Studies points out that almost half of the money requested would pay for resettlement of the immigrants.
“Of the $3.7 billion being requested, fully $1.8 billion (about 49 percent of the total) is for resettlement costs to be appropriated to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) — not just for the UACs, but for entire family units, including adult men and women,” Dan Cadman writes. “There is no reason to think that the accommodations will be temporary, insofar as the funds include authorization ‘for acquisition, construction, improvement, repair, operation, and maintenance of real property and facilities.’”
Dem. Rep. Rips Obama: 'Aloof,' 'Bizarre,' and 'Detached'
Democratic congressman Henry Cuellar ripped President Obama for being "aloof" and "detached" by not visiting the Texas border to see first hand the immigration crisis. Cuellar made the comments on MSNBC:
"He's so close to the border. And let me say this: when I saw, and I hate to use the word bizarre, but under the circumstances, when he is shown playing pool in Colorado, drinking a beer, and he can't even go 242 miles to the Texas border, and plus, if he doesn't want to go down to the border, there's the Air Force Base where HHS is holding some of the young kids from the border. He could at least make that trip to San Antonio, but again, border community leaders wants to see him down there on the border, and I think the optics and the substance of it is that he should show up at the border," said Cuellar.
And he had some advice for the White House."If they are worried about putting a face, the president's face, to this human crisis, humanitarian crisis, I think it's worse if he doesn't even show up. Either way, he's going to be tied into this humanitarian crisis. he either can roll up his sleeves and go down to the border, or he can just look aloof and detached and not go to the border, send surrogates down there, and say that he's got everything under control."
He adds, "It Just floored me, because if he's saying he's too busy to go to the border but you have time to drink beer, play pool."

We need to find all the newspapers that have had articles about "the bountiful USA" and buy ad-space in them where we can put in our own information on "why USA should be avoided at all costs".
According to Malcolm, a large portion of the immigrants come due to ads in their local newspapers, so the solution to all this could be as simple as "counter ads" where we can make america look way worse than it actually is, as to "scare" people from even considering going there.
The pictures of these kids in the cages they currently live would probably go a long way if they were published in the same newspapers that these ads were put.
Yesterday, european newspapers posted an article where Obama is BEGGING parents of the third world to NOT send their kids alone to the US since it is very unlikely these children have the background nescessary for staying on humanitarian reasons. They WILL be sent back.
For a person who plans to overrun the US with illegal immigrants, he sure must have shot himself in the foot when he told parents of the world that sending their kids to the US is a pointless excercise. ;)
