I recently came across Marco Rodin's astounding work on "Vortex-based mathematics" and was just blown away by its value and applications.  (youtube search of his name or VBM will get you to the videos I am refering to)  I have since tried to apply the basics of this mathematical form to everyday occurrences and I'm even more blown away than before!!  Using the numerical values associated with greek (and subsequently English) alphabets I have discovered similarities within my family tree that are too profound to be coincidental.  First of all...I started with my immediate family...It just so happens that my name represents the number 4 (a number I have always felt associated with...for example I always wanted the number 4 on my jersey in every sport I played in the past).  That, however, is only going to seem particularly astounding to myself.  It's when I propagated this numerical system into other names that I found truly interesting relationships.  My parent's names also reduce down to the number 4, my brother reduces to 8 (multiple of 4 or possibly the addition of both my parent's numbers).  My mothers parents were also both 4's.  From here I looked into successful and unsuccessful relationships/marriages.  From what I can see, in order to have a meaningful and harmonious relationship, the two parties must have numbers that are equal or multiples of one another.  My Father's parents were both 9's.  All of the marriages that have lasted the test of time on either side of my extended family are either equals or multiples of each other.  The marriages/relationships that have been marred by disfunctionality  are always between two numbers that have no common ground. I'll stop here cause this post is getting tenuously long, but if this interests you I encourage taking a look at this concept and how it relates to your life, relations, and observances of such relations close to you.  I used the chart on the following website to convert individual letters into numbers, then added the numbers, reduced any multi-digit numeral into its single-digit root in the same way Rodin does in his presentations. Also, don't omit nicknames...as I have found many nicknames are more realistic representations of numerological significance. (I calculated full name values as well as nickname values as to not omit anything possibly significant).

P.S. its quite interesting that the properties of basic math we are taught in school hold true in single-digit mathematics.  Specifically the "associative property," in that it doesn't matter if you reduce 2-digit values as you go along, or if you wait until the end of the calculation...its the same value no matter how you add.
