compared to bama's blathering this letter to the Americans is breath of fresh air-and it makes a lot of sense.

Is Puting fighting the NWO that has infiltrated American and western european govs/banks and that is working 24/7 to put the mid east into the control of the islamists (same islamists the US and it's allies have been waging war against, just different factions) so as to use the imams to control the muslim population?

What Putin Has to Say to Americans About Syria

<nyt_byline>

MOSCOW — RECENT events surrounding Syria have prompted me to speak directly to the American people and their political leaders. It is important to do so at a time of insufficient communication between our societies.

Relations between us have passed through different stages. We stood against each other during the cold war. But we were also allies once, and defeated the Nazis together. The universal international organization — the United Nations — was then established to prevent such devastation from ever happening again.

The United Nations’ founders understood that decisions affecting war and peace should happen only by consensus, and with America’s consent the veto by Security Council permanent members was enshrined in the United Nations Charter. The profound wisdom of this has underpinned the stability of international relations for decades.

No one wants the United Nations to suffer the fate of the League of Nations, which collapsed because it lacked real leverage. This is possible if influential countries bypass the United Nations and take military action without Security Council authorization.

The potential strike by the United States against Syria, despite strong opposition from many countries and major political and religious leaders, including the pope, will result in more innocent victims and escalation, potentially spreading the conflict far beyond Syria’s borders. A strike would increase violence and unleash a new wave of terrorism. It could undermine multilateral efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear problem and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and further destabilize the Middle East and North Africa. It could throw the entire system of international law and order out of balance.

Syria is not witnessing a battle for democracy, but an armed conflict between government and opposition in a multireligious country. There are few champions of democracy in Syria. But there are more than enough Qaeda fighters and extremists of all stripes battling the government. The United States State Department has designated Al Nusra Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, fighting with the opposition, as terrorist organizations. This internal conflict, fueled by foreign weapons supplied to the opposition, is one of the bloodiest in the world.

Mercenaries from Arab countries fighting there, and hundreds of militants from Western countries and even Russia, are an issue of our deep concern. Might they not return to our countries with experience acquired in Syria? After all, after fighting in Libya, extremists moved on to Mali. This threatens us all.

From the outset, Russia has advocated peaceful dialogue enabling Syrians to develop a compromise plan for their own future. We are not protecting the Syrian government, but international law. We need to use the United Nations Security Council and believe that preserving law and order in today’s complex and turbulent world is one of the few ways to keep international relations from sliding into chaos. The law is still the law, and we must follow it whether we like it or not. Under current international law, force is permitted only in self-defense or by the decision of the Security Council. Anything else is unacceptable under the United Nations Charter and would constitute an act of aggression.

No one doubts that poison gas was used in Syria. But there is every reason to believe it was used not by the Syrian Army, but by opposition forces, to provoke intervention by their powerful foreign patrons, who would be siding with the fundamentalists. Reports that militants are preparing another attack — this time against Israel — cannot be ignored.

It is alarming that military intervention in internal conflicts in foreign countries has become commonplace for the United States. Is it in America’s long-term interest? I doubt it. Millions around the world increasingly see America not as a model of democracy but as relying solely on brute force, cobbling coalitions together under the slogan “you’re either with us or against us.”

But force has proved ineffective and pointless. Afghanistan is reeling, and no one can say what will happen after international forces withdraw. Libya is divided into tribes and clans. In Iraq the civil war continues, with dozens killed each day. In the United States, many draw an analogy between Iraq and Syria, and ask why their government would want to repeat recent mistakes.

No matter how targeted the strikes or how sophisticated the weapons, civilian casualties are inevitable, including the elderly and children, whom the strikes are meant to protect.

The world reacts by asking: if you cannot count on international law, then you must find other ways to ensure your security. Thus a growing number of countries seek to acquire weapons of mass destruction. This is logical: if you have the bomb, no one will touch you. We are left with talk of the need to strengthen nonproliferation, when in reality this is being eroded.

We must stop using the language of force and return to the path of civilized diplomatic and political settlement.

A new opportunity to avoid military action has emerged in the past few days. The United States, Russia and all members of the international community must take advantage of the Syrian government’s willingness to place its chemical arsenal under international control for subsequent destruction. Judging by the statements of President Obama, the United States sees this as an alternative to military action.

I welcome the president’s interest in continuing the dialogue with Russia on Syria. We must work together to keep this hope alive, as we agreed to at the Group of 8 meeting in Lough Erne in Northern Ireland in June, and steer the discussion back toward negotiations.

If we can avoid force against Syria, this will improve the atmosphere in international affairs and strengthen mutual trust. It will be our shared success and open the door to cooperation on other critical issues.

My working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust. I appreciate this. I carefully studied his address to the nation on Tuesday. And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States’ policy is “what makes America different. It’s what makes us exceptional.” It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.

  • yeah-bama is a convert from islam, sure. yep putins gang- or the gang putin belongs to

  • "Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal."

    What about homosexuals?

    • Great point!

With all the chechnya rebels and growing strength of China, why does Putin want to make out gays to be the bad guys? They are harmless to him. And when he was part of the KGB, those scoundrels exploited gays to entrap western diplomats in sexual situations. They love their gays. In their place.

  • this is so funny ...lol ... it seems that NWO is in full working process ... 'bad cop - good cop' the same side ... nobody can predict what our leaders' fickle minds will do next, our history will not reveal who threw the first stone, as this has been going and preparing for ages. Their are all in this together.

Putin as a peacekeeper - lol ... maybe just ruled by common sense - last WWII took 40-50 millions of Russian People only in 5 years, and brought down Russia to it's knees and it's steel on it's knees ... and perhaps don't want to repeat the history?

    • FOLLOW THE MONEY (this may not be good karma, but that's the reality with this selected bunch).

ALL FIAT CURRENCIES (i.e. dollar, euro, pound, monopoly money) HAVE A HISTORY OF DEATH, EITHER BY HYPERINFLATION OR CONCENSUAL REFUSAL, NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOUR MILITARY IS.

Maybe a gold and/or silver standard is in the the works and in the secret discussions; both metals are currently taking nose dives (and the public is historically wrong when it comes to investing). Russia and India are currently trading gold for oil in Iran, and China and India (and its citizens) have been stocking up on gold for sometime. Maybe Putin is defending this new currency, which caused Saddam Hussein to die suddenly (after he discussed using gold for oil), Ghaddafi to die suddenly (after he did the same) and Hugo Chavez to die from cancer (which he claimed was given to him by Mossad, after he demanded gold for his oil). Note that Iran is high on Mossad's "hit list," and in addition to non-nuclear weapon grade purification, they trade oil for gold with Russia. I may be wrong (or partially right), but I think a gold standard (or some type of natural resources standard) may be on the horizon, and this need to "sack Iran" via a gradual surrounding of the country may be due to the success of their oil for gold trading.

      • maybe Malcolm, but do you think that Putin deserved a Noble Prize? For what exactly? Russia is soo corrupt, you can buy a submarine only for a few dollars, everything and everybody is for sale ... people live there one day at the time, there are so many alcoholics and other things that are not humane - based on 'there is no light at the end of the tunnel'. From what i saw on russian tv, Putin looked scared, very concerned ... for what ever the reason ... Fear is good motivator ... except where would it lead?

        • WHAT SOVEREIGN NATION HAS NO CORRUPTION? This is why government attracts the wrong kinds of people, and the right kind of people in government either get killed or photographed with nude kids while they are drugged (THIS IS A REPORTED FAVORITE TACTIC OF A CERTAIN CORRUPT COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE EAST).

The Soviet Union admitted it was wrong with its monetary policy and its' blank checks to the military, and they changed. The United States needs to admit to this similar problem, and (like the Soviet Union) change its monetary policy via a central bank printing its currency, while such is controled by foreign banking interests and rich families (i.e. the Rockefellers, the Rothschilds, etc.)

          • yes ... ;)

but unless you are living in russian you would never understand the full meaning of corruption ... ;)) but that's ok ....  i was born and raised in Russia, i have relatives who live there now ... and it's interesting that you have mentioned Foreign Banking ... did you know that Russia was debt free ... and what a coincidence that the first credit card that appear in Russia was in 1999 the same time Putin become a prime minister ... http://www.credcard.ru/eng89.html - maybe it will make more sense to you then to me ... ;))

HISTORY OF CREDIT CARD IN RUSSIA - from 1989 to 1994
CREDCARD - HISTORY OF CREDIT CARD IN RUSSIA - VISA Eurocard/MasterCard Diners Club American Express Amex Americard 1989 1990 1991 1992 1993 1994
            • Russia was debt free because they went bankrupt in the 1980's via Gorbachev. Putin kicked out bankers that had relationships with the main banking cartels that had relations and financial ties with the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve. That credit card you are talking about has no relationship with the offshore banks that are shareholders with the Federal Reserve or the Bank of England, AND BOTH OF THESE ENTITIES PUSH CENTRAL BANKING AND ITS ROLE AS SOLE PROVIDER OF CURRENCY TO THE NATION THAT THEY DO BUSINESS IN . TO REPEAT MYSELF:  PUTIN IS AN ENEMY OF CENTRAL BANKS, BECAUSE HE WON'T LET THE FORE-MENTIONED BANKS IN FOR "a piece of the action" WHICH LEADS TO MIDDLE CLASS DESTRUCTION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF SERFDOM (look at what is going on to the middle class in the United States and England at this time if you don't believe me). THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SERFDOM IS THE HIDDEN GOAL OF CENTRAL BANKING, WITH GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS "selected" BY THE BANKS VIA THE FINANCING OF THEIR ELECTIONS IN ORDER TO ACHEIVE THIS GOAL. OBAMA IS PROOF OF THIS: HE HAS HAD MORE THAN 50% OF HIS CAMPAIGN DONATIONS FROM FEDERAL RESERVE SHAREHOLDERS OR AFFILIATES (Goldman Sachs reportedly donated more that $2 million in 2008).

        • here is another guy who got a Noble Prize too ... lol ...

The Nobel Peace Prize for 2009

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.

Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. Thanks to Obama's initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population.

For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world's leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama's appeal that "Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges."
