This 'winter energy' thing should be a non-issue in Europe, if they begin thinking outside the 'box'! That 'you must use gas/ electricity' because may be 'you are too clean' there in Europe is a pride trap to ensure that you always buy these things no matter how costly they are. You thus create billionaires, and billion beggars! Time to defy these, and burn your own charcoal!š

This should not be 'desperate' at all! Fire woods are excellent zero cent alternative to gas. A mere log of wood can take you over two months, doing what hundreds of litters of gas would do!
So I advice Europeans to burn wood instead of freezing and/or paying huge money for gas/electricity.
