  I think such 'forced fulfilment' of scriptures is one of the reasons Shias are often feared, especially by Sunnis. But we have seen that they are not peculiar to Shias. ISIS were Sunnis, trying to force in a fulfilment. But the worst ones are nothing but the Zionists. Their establishment of Israel was a forced fulfilment of 'the return of Israel'.
  
  But if you close exermine, Iranis are not into such. They believe that Mahdi's conquest will be miraculous. (Some pple fear that Iranis might use nukes to 'force the end of the world')

  I resonate with this. Many pple hope for some 'golden age' of some sort. Even atheists think of such things as 'transhumanism' or such. We think of 'the contact with ETs', the 'ascension of earth' etc. I was reading Shias talk of why it is important to have such hopes. I reasoned with such!
  
  Pple believe in God, and also some in between of man and God, and finaly a comming age where much of our problems will be tackled, may be with some help of these 'godmen'. In new age, they may be 'star brothers' or such things! The amazing thing is the universality of such beliefs!

  Iranian supreme leader is called Sayyid Ali Husseini Khamenei. Take note of title 'sayyid', which means 'descendant of Muhammad'. Of course the title is very powerfull! It somehow makes any Shia around the world loyal to Khamenei, hence 'Iran supports terrorists'. But as you should see, it is more of the vice-versa!!
  
  Pple think that Shia ultimate aim is to rule the world, then Imam Mahdi will suddenly appear and establish Shiite version of 'kingdom if God'. In other words Imam Mahdi is the 'Messiah' for shias.
  
  This Shiite story runs parallel to Zionists idea, hence the spiritual root source of the rivalry. Zionists too aim to rule the whole world through the promised messiah.
  
  This is one of the reasons Iran, an otherwise tiny country, is often a big issue in the world. It is just like Israel.

  Indeed I agree. This waning and waxing rule, applies to all nations and peoples. The Persians were certainly mighty, throughout history, with great Kings such as Darius, Cyrus, Xerxes...They did meet their match at the straits of Thermopylae and the Spartans. Then the unified Greeks, with Alexander's push eastward...But later Persia formed a new empire, that would be centuries later, during the Roman Empire, era...
  The Romans saw two strategic threats, the German tribes to the north and the mighty Persian Empire, to the east...on their eastern borders..
  
  So yes, history is like the tide, it draws in and out, again...We must all learn this (I see you do,) so as to be ready not to make mistakes, as history can be a harsh mistress....A bit like nature, really...;-)
