My mother was Irish, my father English. I came to the USA in 1969. I was 18. I have lived in Ireland also, and in Spain. Most of my adult life in USDA though, so returning to England in a month feels like moving abroad again. Funny you should mention that one of you is gay and the other straight, because I was just reading this: Bits%20of%20Mystery%20DNA.docx If this doesn't open I can email it to you. It's in today's NT Times, explaining more about predispositions (in the dark matter) rather than straightforward known DNA causes.
