Sufism is not speculation - it is utterly practical. It is not a philosophy – it is very down to earth. Its roots are in the earth. it is not abstract – wholly thinking – it means business. It wants to transform people, not just stuff their mind with futile, impotent ideas. In addition, all ideas as such is impotent. They pretend much, but when you go deep into them, you will always find them empty of all reality. They promise but they never deliver the goods. They cheat.
Philosophers have been the greatest cheats in the world. They create beautiful mansions in the air. They are artists in creating dreams. And those who become enchanted in those dreams are very unfortunate, because their lives will be wasted. And by the time they have become aware that they have been chasing dreams, it will be too late.
And there are few people who never become aware of it. Their whole lives they remain engrossed in ideas. And they die engrossed in the ideas. They never come face to face with reality. And it is only reality that liberates.
Truth liberates, not ideas. And truth is not an idea; truth is an experience.
Sufism is not an “ism” as such. It is a practical methodology. It is alchemy. If you understand its ways it is going to transmute you from lower metal too higher metal. It can take you to another reality. It can open doors to the ultimate. It is not interested in giving you great ideas. Its basic emphasis is how to give you a little more awareness.
Even an ounce of awareness is far more valuable than the whole Himalayas of philosophy. An inch of becoming more conscious is far better than traveling thousands of miles in your dreams.
Philosophy is a very articulate dream – non-pictorial, conceptual, but still it is a dream, a very sophisticated dream. The dream is that which prevents you from knowing the reality. All dreaming has to stop, has to cease. When your eyes are no more full of dreams, you will be able to see that which is.

I would say 98% of the users on this site are engrossed in abstract ideas in one way or another. They may think they are spiritual and holy. That they have connections to higher dimensions, to star people and extra terrestrials and so on and so forth. They will go on teaching others with "facts" based on their dreams, imagination and fantasy. But they are actually just lost very, very deeply in a whole 'nother level of mind chitter chatter game. They will go on talking about morals, rights and wrongs of others and how to behaive and how to connect with the E.T's and how to live the way the Universe intended for us to live, as if they are a prophet. They can in reality only be a prophet for themselves. Even that will be imagination. A true, wise and concsious individual, touches you in such a way that it penetrates to your very core. We are in the time of overflowing knowledge and false prophets.
Even all knowledge must be false. Because knowledge creates duality. For knowledge to be, there must be a knower and something that is known, that makes two. In discovering one self, one has to let go of the self including knowledge. By letting go of the personal self, the real self appears, and in the real self there is knowing, not knowledge. It is a verb, not a nounce. It is knowing, right there and than. And in knowing arises wisdom and insight.
Than one can go on and do what ever one wants. And what ever that is, it will be with clear sight.

I don’t want to put my ‘foot in my mouth’ … but ok … we best learn when we speak out loud … and to see the pattern one need to step back a little. Experience is Truth. It’s an abstract only if you heard about it or just observed it. If one brakes an arm and tells you that the experience is painful (it is) – there is no point to theories about it (it is real for that individual) … and when another one has experienced it as well there wouldn’t be any ‘arguments’ about it … except one may add a few things to it … ;))
All of us are similar in the relation to this Planet and Nature; There is so much involved in this: weather, land, gravity, light, dark, water, elements and etc … nature itself is not always calm … but when the storm comes people don’t criticize it, judge it or try to change it, they get prepared, embraced it and deal accordingly after the storm is gone – some get fearful, some get energies by it primordial power - there is an understanding that this is Nature, why people can’t be the same to each other. We can only be responsible for our own response to life why do we think that my road or your road is better or right. When in reality (even illusionary) we can only be the masters of our own world, when philosophy becomes The Way and not just by thinking but living in it. We have so much branches of philosophy about God, because God is a Mystery and so is Existence. However discovering God and Existence is – individual journey and revelation.
and why can’t I be both: knowledgeable and ignorant … (ignorance can become arrogance and we all know arrogance come before fall) …or be smart and fool, happy and sad, angry and calm … etc ... ? …;)) – after all this is my world, my space … my experience.
MY USAGE OF THE WORD 'MIND'
Any process that has a direct connection to a person's celebrum but which itself cannot be perceive from without the person. As I am not that good in psycology or psychiatry, I don't try to understand 'mind' or celebrum so much. So any thing that can connect with you to give you ah-ah is part of your mind. There is no 'beyond mind' in strict sense of terms. Who said your awareness is realy inside your celebrum?
FANTASY
I never try to fight fantasies of men or try to discourage them from such. At best, it is the source of inspiration. At worst, it is harmless. It can't prevent one from being practical. Many schools, hospitals and projects were build by Christians. Seeking God, angels, twinflames etc doesn't make someone automatically impractical. It is futile to spend too much energy trying to kill fantasy. It is the joy of the one persuing his dreams etc. It is another man's whisky.
Instead, I sought to understand why pple tend to fantasis, with the intuition that there is a reason for everything. I arrive at two possibilities.
a)THERE ARE INFACT THOSE THINGS
It would be narrow minded to dismiss without thought the possibility of say ETs or God etc. Dismissing the persuit to find God is not behaving in any way different from an atheist. It is not realy as wise as it seems. The hypothesis of God is backed by some evidences that appeal to reason. It is never ruled out even in science. It is kept pending in some folders in the background.
On the other hand, just flashing off one's mind and refusing to think about God is not any wiser than if an ET was to refuse to think about the possibility of electricity inside a wire cause he cannot see it or experience. He can ignore it and even be practical. He can ignore electricity at his own peril. He can think he is wise and never waste his time fantasysing about things that cannot be proved immediately. However, if electricity is there, he is just a fool! Disbeleiving something real is often more dangerous that beleiving a lie.
b) EVOLUTIONARY BENEFITS
Everybody aware of biology have come to note that if fantasysing of ETs etc were worthless, they could have been naturaly selected against but it hasen't! The understanding of it is quite simple. It is just pinned down by that example of touching electricity to get the true prove of its existence. It will be proven to you in hell! Talk about knowing that serves no practical use and learning through experiences is an exellent example. Wise pple learn through fantasies, imaginations, tales, books etc. Fools learn by experience!
If a chick wait until it sees an eagle to beleif that one exists, the prove will come too late for the knowledge to serve any practical benefit. It won't excape the lightning speed of the eagle. Only those that prio fantasise and beleived the reality of the eagle survived. That is how the instinct evolved. If we waite for ETs to land on moon before the idea comes to our awareness, it might be too late!
I never dispute at all the idea that we might get some 'ah-ha' when we relax a bit. That was not what I was arguing against in this blog. I never thought it would become such a long argument. I thought Hopi would substantiate my objections. I found his first post to have swang extreemly to the other side of the pendulum. Let me put it once again; don't you see that my objection was legitimate?
1.)ALL PHILOSOPHERS HAVE BEEN DECEIVING US
I wished to object to this. For example, atomic theory begun as a philosophical speculations. People idly wondered; what happens if I keep dividing an object endlessly. These are philosophical questions and answeres that eventually have transformed our society. All of the figures behind the scientific revolution of the 17th centuary were half or full assed philosophers. We have Bacon, Descartes, Newton, Locken, Leibniz,.., the list is countless. These philosophers promorted good use of reason, logic and being totally objective as opposed to mere supesticions and sentiments. These transformed our society out of the dark ages of papacy etc. As such I insist that sound philosophy underpins a good society. The ideas such as General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics, all begun as philosophy. Modern physics is underpinned by the works of Immanuel Kant, Gotfried Leibniz and Ernst Mach . Only through their insights did physicist saw the possibility of physic beyond 'Newtonian physics'. Einstein, for instance so much credited Mach for his insights. His 'ah-ah' came when he understood Mach's principle, which is just a philosophical argument.
2 ALL IDEAS ARE IMPOTENT
First of all, how should we categorise such assertions? If it itself isn't a thought out idea, what the hell is it? It is just like the well known false sentens:
"all statements are false"
How about the statement itself? Is it not a statement? If it is, then it is itself false by its own standard.
Aside the logical absurdity of such, lets consider facts. Ideas are absolutely powerfull. Before things turn to practice, we form ideas in the mind.
3. ALL KNOWLEDGE IS FALSE
If we are to swallow this, Ara, then I must just easily flash down the toilet all the advice you are giving me for your just either speaking from your knowledge or speaking from you ignorance! One would be the point of all the arguments since we can only share our ideas and perceptions with other people?
4 TRUTH IS NOT AN IDEA
Truth, like any other word was invented by the mind. Everything invented by the mind is by definition an idea. As I see a guitar, I just see a guitar. I don't see 'truth'. Truth is an abstract concept. I cannot point to anything in the world and utter 'truth' for say an ET to understand my usage of the word. to grasp truth, we must absolutely think. No one can see, smell, touch or test 'truth'. Truth is an abstract concept.
yes Rama … it’s clearly the case … too many languages … however I didn't dispute your logic, nor your intelligence, however i failed to understand your ‘argumentative point’ … about this post ... only in silence everybody have their aha moments when mind is 'relaxed' (most discoveries came to life this way) … even computers, most of inventions … and based on the experiences … "Newton was sitting under the tree contemplating the mysteries of the universe, when apple felt on his head, Aha he shout, in the flash he understood the force of gravity - or something like that" ... ;)) ... when it happens to me (of course on very tiny scale, I know with certainty that it has nothing to do with the mind) … being an artist it is more like ‘feeling’ than thinking … inner perception and being quite at that moment ... if the mind involved the mistake is unavoidable … the mind will always try to rationalize and compartmentalize to ‘the why and where and how, is it good, bad, balanced ’ … which is ok (that’s how we learn) … but even 'individual revelation' come in silence and peace – exactly like ‘vacuum’ … empty (metaphorically speaking) … or not ... based on my comprehension ... ;))
Doesn't the word 'elementary particle' itself not sound like a mere object of men's fantasies?
what is real? seeing, thinking, perceiving ... or?
