Is The Last Day of the Year and Supposed to be the last day of the Year and on that day the Moon will not be present so very Dark Night so people will celebrate the Ocasion offering Lights so the Festival is that of Light and To bring Light over darkness in Life....
People used to forget and forgive if their relations are spoiled....and they will tie their tie their hearts with the Wisdom and Love to start a new life....Because 4th November will be the New Year Day ....
On the Day of Dark Night There is a Solar Eclipse Aslo.....so the day becomes more important for Meditators and worship will become intensive of Devis and Devtas or our Mother Father God....

On the Diwali day they will celebrate with Giving gifts to Family Members and Will offer sweets taking Prasad....and Fire works is the main for celebration....for the festival of Light....
