I did intend for them to be looking off in the distance, which means I screwed up drawing fringe man. And the guy holding his hand out, I got that by sneaking glances at people then trying to copy that onto the paper. That's how I learned how to draw people, by looking at them.
The things I'm up about is the lips, the forehead, the various indentures that mark a face and its bearer (old, frowny, happy, fat, etc.), and how women's faces are different from men's. Drawing a woman always seems to come out... more manly then girly. Eh, I should probably attempt girly more.
