This unorganized sacred mission was launched(not founded) by Maha Guru Metta(Laosuhu Romo Metta Pouw Tjien Liong) , an Indonesian ethnic Chinese born in West Java, Indonesia in November 1942, more than 68 years ago. The mission was launched in Bandung-West Java, Indonesia on Tuesday, 5th January 1971 about 40 years ago when He came back to Indonesia after more than two years of very very intense Spiritual search and struggle in India and Thailand.
He walked barefootedly, ate a little vegetarian food, and drank plain water daily making his body thin enough. This was the third renunciation, and a successful one fortunately. The first and second one was in December 1965, and 1966 when He was a school teacher at S.D. Tjandra Naja Sore located at Gajah Mada St., Jakarta Barat, Indonesia.
Maha Guru Metta(Romo Metta officially)
was never involved with any girl although He was handsome enough as can be proved by his young age photos, and in fact a few girls tried to be his girlfriend. His parents were not poor, too. His renunciations were PURELY Spiritual.

It began when He had just finished his High School at SMAK Dago at Dago St., Bandung-West Java, Indonesia;He got tired of schooling life, and felt some emptiness that He did not quite understand. It was 1962.

As He loves reading, He spent much of his salary as a school teacher to buy religious books as well as to give donations. So He knows all religions, faiths and beliefs. He spent little for his needs as He did not has any interest on mundane entertainments.

Since the beginning, Maha Guru Metta has a universal outlook. He did Hatha Yoga so actively that his legs could be in Padmasana without using his hands, and when opening the lock to normal position, too. And later by long and torturing Savangasanas, all his chakras, from Muladhara to Sahasrara Chakra opened themselves, and his Kundalini, too. Soon He used to enter the invisible worlds, and there He met many many Spiritual human spirits such as the late Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel Prize winner, and got their Blessings and encouragements.

In short, He could not stand his mundane life any longer , and did the first renunciation bravely. He failed because of inexperience and lack of preparation. But there were three very very incredible happenings: firstly, He saw a thick mass of cloud in the west sky shaping the form of BIMA definitely, and his landlady confirmed the sacred figure when He asked her to look at it. The landlady, Mrs. Siek Koen Piauw opened a simple boarding house at Gang(lane) Betet(parakeet), Jembatan Lima, Jakarta Barat, Indonesia, and her husband was formerly a captain in the army although he was an ethnic Chinese, and was involved in combats actively during Dutch and Japanese occupations. BIMA is a very sacred figure in ancient Javanese leather puppets stories because only Bima amongst the Five Pandawa Knights who achieved the Atman(Soul) Consciousness. The landlady respected Maha Guru Metta greatly. So when she knew the renunciation, she asked him for joining her to her village at Karang Lewas, Purwokerto-Middle Java, Indonesia. Having no heart to disappoint her, He agreed. At dawn before leaving the boarding house, He saw the Bima cloudformation.

Secondly, one evening at the village which was lonesome at the time, she asked him for sitting and chatting in a small rose garden at the leftside of the house. The air was cool and pleasant;only both of them. Suddenly, He saw a silvery white ‘FULL MOON’ moved very slowly from the left, just a little higher than the coconut trees. He intuitively KNEW that if He told her the *UFO*, it will instantly disappeared! Again He thought she ought to SEE THE MOST INCREDIBLE SIGHT IN HER LIFE. TRUE, she was shocked greatly, and hurried back into the house when He told her to see It by pointing his finger, and INSTANTLY the *UFO* disappeared.

Thirdly, after the incident. Without any plan, He did a seven day retreat at *THE MOST SACRED MAHA MANDALA* on Earth:*BOROBUDUR*. At the time, December 1965, no one dared to do that because a worker fell down dead, and the place was considered dangerously haunted.

On January 5, 1971 He launched this sacred mission. The mission is not organized although it causes much difficulty in getting fund. In that year, there was an official offering his sincere aid to collect fund
by creating a foundation. But regretfully Maha Guru Metta had to turn down such helpful aid because this mission will never be organized. Only by being unorganized, truly sincere seekers after Truth can be in direct contact with Him although they are poor financially. Besides that, He does not like bureaucracy.

WHAT MAHA GURU METTA AND HIS SACRED MISSION HAVE DONE
FOR INDONESIA, AND THE WORLD:
* DAILY, UNLESS UNABLE, HELPS TRUE INDONESIAN PATRIOTS AND REFORMISTS
who are still alive as well as the passed away ones; usually, unless unable, the unknown Service is conducted at 11 A.M.
* HE HAS HELPED SALATIGA SINCE 18th MARCH 1980, more than thirty years ago, making the city free from social and political riots although it is dominated by christians, and chinese. Till now, even the city is spared from natural disasters although Solo and Semarang the neighbour cities were hit frequently. This is caused by his close relationship with the masters of the four elements: Earth, Water, Wind(Air) and Fire.
* HE HAD HELPED PROMOTING INDONESIA AS WELL AS THE WORLD AWARENESS
by paying costly advertisements; in USA especially. Some were in Yoga Journal Sep/Oct 1991 & January/February 1987 issues, in Psychic Guide May/June & July/August 1987 issues etc. Many in non-paying advertisements on exchange basis as he published METTA, an international quarterly which is defunct since July 2002! Although the simple quarterly was intended for paying subscribers but most of it were distributed freely.
* He had paid countless advertisements in Indonesia newspapers and magazines in 1971 on, and as the result thousands of Indonesian had been upgraded in consciousness. Some of them, the sincere and zealous ones, have been successful in becoming his followers, and even Disciples.
* Maha Guru Metta does not eat meat and fish, and does not use animal products, too. He does not smoke and drink, and has no mundane entertainments; since Javanese New Year(Suro) 1944 (7th December 2010) He has no interest in watching tv. He IS a ‘Hermit’ still.
* HE HAD GIVEN MANY PRATICAL HELPS IN MANY CITIES IN INDONESIA.
