Why surrender to love when you can embrace it? Here I rant about choice and its role

I must apologize in advance for this message, it is sure to rustle a few jimmies and perhaps you will have a lesser opinion of me but I feel I must voice my thoughts on the matter as I've had this on my mind for many months and this seems like a good time to discuss what's been on my mind lately.Why do my people seek to disarm themselves rather than overcoming their dark emotions? Okay I'll admit I don't trust our people half as far as I can throw them, but I feel the general consensus on this matter is ..err.. failing to see the entire picture.As humans with free will many of us choose not to commit acts of violence, even without considering fear of "retribution" we may feel so strongly against it that we do not consider it an option in anything but an emergency, and sometimes even then people would rather not resort to violence. Have you ever been so overcome with rage as to hurt another person? I have, when I was younger. It doesn't feel 'right' so I avoid it all I can. I will protect myself and others if I can but I prefer not to have to. I learned at a young age to look at things from another's perspective, and it helps to avoid all sorts of needless conflict, they might not understand me but if I understand them it's much easier to be patient. I think it goes into the saying 'turn the other cheek'? Doesn't always defuse the situation though.Does forcing disarmament accelerate this lesson? Does it somehow teach people to value life? I've read many times that in higher consciousness or dimensional realms that it is difficult or even impossible for people to fall victim to "lower vibrations" so what would it even matter if people owned weaponry? Many people on this site have voiced their opposition to weaponry. I would hope they would be able to trust themselves with such deadly potential, I certainly trust myself. When I was a younger less knowledgeable lad I would not, but I developed as a person.Yet I've read of our "galactic allies" destroying "reptilian" bases with advanced sonic weaponry. Are they somehow more qualified than ourselves to wield destructive power? If they feel the need to have an arsenal of weaponry yet only use them in the name of what they deem as good why would it be unnecessary for us to be able to defend ourselves from these same "evil" creatures.Let's say strict gun restrictions are put into law, does this teach us anything spiritually? Does stripping our ability to even feel the desire for retribution towards another teach us anything. How many who read this message would kill another in cold blood, or on a whim? We still have the capacity to do so we just choose not to, restrictive gun laws or no.Without easy methods to harm one another we may have less tragedies on our physical bodies and by extent our emotions, but the core of the problem is still there, in the hearts of those who have given in to the darker emotions of us humans.On a personal note: The way I see it, defanging the human race through disarmament and taking away our "darkness" is insulting and suspicious. Yes indeed! I question the motives of any who would take away my ability to defend myself. Especially when they take away the possibility of my perceiving the need to defend myself. Especially when they then try to reason it through a religious or spiritual doctrine. Choosing love implies there is an actual choice. I will gladly serve the greater good of my own accord because that's who I am, but if I have the power to I will not be a slave to anything, not even "love".Sigh, were it me up there in a mega powerful position I would certainly have the best intentions for the human race. So I'll never doubt that it's entirely possible that they are benevolent, but the things they say sometimes just break my trust.Why surrender to anything when you can embrace it? Are we not creators in the making? Are we not here to learn? To prove that we CAN choose love when tempted with other options? I think love is the most important thing but I disagree with the idea that it's all that matters. We have such great potential. More than we are told.

Hi folks, Hi 9ball, as far as the gun thing, have never seen a gun walking around by itself and shooting people or any other weapon for that matter, hehe.

Things are really simple in the end.

Seems many just like to put blinders on, maybe because it generates more drama and we know how some folk really like drama.
