why suffering

1.)To help us conceive and appreciate Good2.)To help us learn and grow3.)To punnish wrongdoers4.)That men may exercise their free will.An example is usually given in considering 1, if there was only one object in the cosmos, will we conceive motion? A fallacious argument! It is correct that we need two objects to conceive motion but neither of the objects has to be EXISTENT to merely CONCEIVE motion. We can simply imagine moving objects with our heads without observing them. The analogy exploits the tendency to confuse KNOWING something and CONCEIVING something. As for evil, we can simply IMAGINE it without EXPERIENCING it. Futhermore, even if experience is absolutely necesary, it neednot be an over and over in daily business.Considering 2, if you were to raise your head recklessly and hit a window, you suffer. Then you learn a lesson and the lesson is never to raise your head carelessly. But of course it is the possibility of suffering itself, i.e. hitting the window, that necesitate learning, i.e avoiding to hit the window. Therefore 2 chases its own tail and thus far much more ridiculus than 1!I leave you 3 and 4 to ridicule them as an exercise to you. There are two men worth noting: Jesus and Job. Both of them are said to have suffered greatly. Jesus's answer was:So as the glory of God may be revealed when he solves it!!!Job's answere was another question; Why good things?Job gets it!!! The answer to the question: why bad things is another question: why good things.why should I experience suffering? It came into Job's mind. But Job also wondered; but why should I experience pleasure either? This helped him to overcome suffering and he was credited as a wise man!
