Hey, new to the forum here.

I'm no stranger to inclined to believe something that goes against mainstream thinking, but something has been bothering me for quite some time. I think people fall into two distinct categories. One of them is the new age crowd that will believe in everything from crystal skulls to rectal probes. My problem is not that they are far out. There are lots of things that we take for granted today that not that long ago were considered outlandish. I think you would still need to confirm or deny something to the best of your ability before you sell yourself on it. There are two different schools of thoughts I like to listen to. The key figures in both told their students explicitly not to take anything they say at face value, but to put them to the test themselves.

But I take an issue with the so-called skeptics as well, maybe even more so. It's not that I'm so strong of a believer that there is no room for rational thought. On the contrary, I think atheist for instance do not make a lot of logical sense (there is no logical reason to think why consciousness can't be at the source of everything, at least not yet).

So why are we so eager to jump the go in such a manner?

Kory
