The abovementioned article by Mike Adams quoted Dr. Andrew Weil, "who is perhaps the best-known alternative medicine doctor in America" on the immune-boosting properties found in the herb Astragalus: "Astragalus ... is ... used traditionally to ward off colds and flu, and has demonstrated both antiviral and immune-boosting effects in scientific investigation."
To ward off flu viruses, I use Echinacea (E. purpurea, E. angustifolia) and Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus). Elder (Sambucus nigra, S. canadensis), Garlic (Allium sativum), Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), and Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum) are some of the safe herbs for flu viruses when taken at recommended dosage. And of course prevention is the best way, i.e. by having a healthy lifestyle.
