Which is the greater damage that a man can do to himself, that which harms his body, or that wich wounds his soul.

I picked this up from another thread written by Leila Raven. I started a new one so Mr Pathfinder does not have to remind me again not to put stuff up that is not related...It is a good question i have been wondering about for years. I always wanted to know why comiting suicide is blasfemy. When we al know that the moment we are born we are growing towards death. Now is killing the body blasfemy or is harming the soul a bigger one. What about jesus? Did he not kill his own body but not his soul? I wonder because i went trough the denial of my soul most of my childhood, when grown ups tell you as a kid in church that you shall not kill thy-self, they seem to forget to explain what thy-self is. Is it thy-self as a Ego state or is it thy-self as Soul. I know we can not kill the soul but we can shurely deny it. This deniel puts people deeper into chaos, Most churches tell us to be good souls or get better because we were born in sin, but souls do not sin, Ego does. So here we are with again dualistic explenations from church and other instancies that do no good to anybody. So i decided to let my soul take charge of my life again 15 years ago. It has been a wild ride with al kinds of interesting lessons in courage, friendschip,love,strenght,etc etc. It is still all new to me and i do get my share of Ego attacks in my own inner world, but i have learned to keep it inside and deal with it instead of letting it come out and give food to the Ego world. I would say that YES wounding the soul is worse than killing the body. This does not meen i do not care about the body, i do understand it is a vehicle for us to travel in this world. Now this brings me to another question. If we are souls and we do not die, and if re-incarnation is a fact why not live without fear for death and die faster so we can come back faster and get stuff done on a higher vibrational tone. I mean, do we not live half way here on this dualistic mentality, does duality not take away most of ouwer energy? Keep in mind that i ask this because i died already a few times and it did more good than bad to my soul. :))

well ... tough lesson to learn .... to just simply be here and love one's self to the point we see feel the beauty of Mother Earth and eventually zone into just being here and going with flow of what life presents to us. Choice is something we learn new everyday as with each new moment we are in, presents anew over and over. I had to learn to relax and be here and allow trust in life to show itself to me ... and now I am glad I stayed, as I have learned the preciousness of life- something that broke the old pattern of wanting to skip this life and move to the next soul/spirit phase.

I know ..... it would be nice to go now as this planet certainly has allot of pain running around and things that hurt us as human beings- yet I see no point now in having a death wish .. Thus I have a life wish now ... Namaste ... RJK

well ... tough lesson to learn .... to just simply be here and love one's self to the point we see feel the beauty of Mother Earth and eventually zone into just being here and going with flow of what life presents to us.   I was not talking about die faster like in suicide. I was talking about taking risks and not think twice in doing things...witch might or not contribute to a early depart from this planet but with the re-incarnation system one would be back soon. Instead of walking on eggs al the time fearing to do the so called wrong thing.

    oh .. o.k :) taking risks is a different yes ;) u do what u sense is best for u and ... all here is really just thoughts tripping past in regard to your expressions .. so yes .... depending on the risks u want to take ;)

it's a trip: synchronicity! just last week, i was trying to remember the theory of "the hundredth monkey", then you alluded to it in that other thread, & now, this! i was at work, at about 4am this morning, listening to a dispatch regarding.. uh, well, you guessed it.. :0/ & it made me ponder: us humans. i ponder the idea of "thou shalt not kill" in regards to murder (or, even, suicide) & wondering.. if: (this vid.: it gets better as you go.. if you have the attention span to continue, that is.. ;0)

then, can the soul really be wounded? is "soul" ego? is it simply: a tentacle (used to feel/ sensualities..?) what is the difference between the "soul" & "the spirit" ? is the soul just like a half step, or a weigh~station between ego & spirit? & if the body were just a "skin~suit" to temporarily contain the soul/ spirit, then what matter is it really? & yet, is it for some: a temple. perhaps for others: a prison..? ~hmm..~

Well said, Gariga. I've not heard of anyone who suicided because they were in joy. I see suicide as a premature escape. Certainly, there are many lightworkers who are very weary and would like nothing better than to return "home" wherever that may be, but, we've agreed to keep on keepin' on until the victory is assured.

I wonder if everyone on the planet has not had thoughts of ending their "misery" at one time or another. Why would some decide to keep going and others decide to end this incarnation? I have had times (in the distant past) that I thought of suiciding, but, something in me would not allow me to give in to that. I've heard more than once that this is a very, very painful experience for the Loved ones of the one who takes their own life, and I, personally, would not want to inflict that on the ones I profess to Love.

      Willing to kill oneself without resentment or fear. He often shows a willingness to lay down his life with little consequence. I'm not advocating that someone do this, but I am giving an example of someone being happy while killing oneself, as you said the idea was unheard of.
