We need a law that all Hot Food To Go or Bakery Goods must state TIME and DATE made clearly on labels before being put out for sale.

I use the term New Craze as this hot food to go ...ready meals are becoming available in more and more Supermarkets and Cafes.Before buying any of this hot food to go please check the following:THE DATE AND TIME THE FOOD WAS MADE READY as some could have been made longer then youthink...IF THE DATE AND TIME IT WAS MADE IS NOT MARKED THEN DO NOT BUY.I have experienced that some of the so called hot food tastes rotten as it has been too long in the hot counter and near enough the heat has dried Up the food.I go to WholeFoods quiet often and I check out their Savoury Treats which is kept out in counters but there is no label stating the time it was put out so i ask the baker how long it has been out and what time a new tray will come out if he already knows.I found cakes in Govindas restaurant in London nicely displayed but no time or date they were actually made as some seemed fresh and some that have been in the food counter for one, two or more days but only if you take a good look you will be able to tell if it is fresh from today or been a few days.I found in Tesco Canary Wharf hot food to go which recently expanded and I found the time printed on full and half Pizzas. I bought a full pizza and although time was printed was good the Pizza did not tastes that good as I feel the counter heat just dries the food up pretty quick and if was just about edible.We need a law enforced that all hot food to go must have a label stating time and day put out for sale and this I think is very important.. Just stating fresh is not good enough as Time and date is more important.Tell us your experiences and views on fast hot food to go and bakery goods ACC Members

    I found the sell by dates on cream cakes longer then the cream stays fresh and so sometimes it tasted a bit stale

    Most state fresh but very few state time and date.
