Three engineering students in India are taking matters into their own hands when it comes to stopping the country's current outbreak of violence towards women.See Video on YouTube @https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_3p1P7oZOY&feature=youtube_gdata_playerThey’re making lingerie.Monisha Mohan, Rimpi Tripathi, and Neeladri Basu Pal are students at the University of Chennai. The trio has designed an underwear garment capable of locating possible rape victims, electrocuting offenders, and sending messages to parents and police forces.Fittingly, the garment has been named the Society Harnessing System (SHE). Monisha Mohan talked to The Times of India recently about the garment’s capabilities."The lingerie with global positioning system, global system for mobile communications and also pressure sensors is capable of sending shock waves of 3,800 kV as well as alerts to parents and police," said Mohan.“A person trying to molest a girl will get the shock of his life the moment pressure sensors get activated, and the GPS and GSM modules would send an SMS (to the Indian emergency number) as well as to parents of the girl," she added.Full Article and Photo @ http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/crime/three-indian-students-develop-anti-rape-lingerieMy Suggestion: it would be good if also they had a hidden minature camera on their button, broach or badge... Also included in the Underwear..both for men and women a sensor that warns you if anyone comes near you carrying weapons...so the wearer is protected from rape, assault and mugging.PEOPLE NEED TO PROTECT THEMSELVES BECAUSE BY THE TIME THE POLICE GET THERE IT IS TOO....oo..oo Late.

  • Now people can feel safe...no more lengthy expensive court cases .. no more after rape effects and treatment in hospitals. No Rape No Case ... Live in freedom
  • Like I stated they should be protective underwear both for men and women so as to protect from Rape( mainly women ), mugging and assault.. For men more to protect from muggings, assault and violence.
This protective underwear should be available WorldWide via stores and Internet.
Vulnerable people like old people need protection against mugging, violence and assault.
  • We have come to a stage that we need self protection ... Having been mugged twice I know the feeling.
  • Sounds like it has a future on the BDSM scene as well...

With the appropriate modifications, Of course. (how much voltage can you squeeze into a g string :p)

And kudo's for such an innovative solution.

  • He..he..he not a bad idea at all and I hope more women take it up to protect themselves... Wouldn't be a bad idea to have a miniature camera disguised as a badge, broach or button that would activate if a women is being molested as long as the camera circuit is linked to the shock circuit...he..he..he it would be fun to see the look on the rapist face when he gets the shock treatment.
Their are cases of tourist being raped while on holiday so they should remember to put on their shocking underwear.
Also come to think of it ... IT WOULD BE ALSO GOOD FOR MAN AND WOMAN TO WEAR AN ANTI RAPIST..ANTI ATTACK AND ANTI MUGGING SHOCK EMITTING UNDERWEAR WITH BUILT IN CAMERA disguised as a button, badge or broach.
Ha...ha...ha not a bad idea at all.
