We understand the chakra centers as points of energy that are focused. The way I have experienced and understood it is actually they are points of focus, like beads strung  along a "cord" that stretches infinitely down to "ground", and infinitely up to "heaven". Many of us, we tend to focus energy on particular centers, because that is what we are "up to" at the time. We need to learn about will, so we focus on third chakra. We need to learn about heart, so we pull our energy into fourth chakra. We want to learn to see so we put it all into purple, third eye. This is powerful, we want to focus on a particular aspect of beingness and we do it very well. Even those who are not aware of it, and put all their focus on root because their experience wants to know about survival, for example. What I have noticed though, when I am in states of hightened awareness, is that this is a spectrum. We can choose to focus our energy in one center or another, or in several at once, because of some lesson or experience we are looking for at the time. There is a great emphasis, in some schools of thought, on grounding, making sure that the flow of the spectrum runs properly down through root and to the infinite below, so we can understand and interface properly with physicality. Other schools there is an emphasis on third eye and crown, so we can understand the flow up through there to the infinite above, to spirituality, and the chakras above seventh. These are powerful excersises, to become aware of how we are flowing and focusing our energy. I have noticed though, that I find the greatest bliss when I align them all equally. This is very hard for me to do, because of how I am configured energetically, to focus on particular aspects, but when I can get it to work right, I feel wonderfully calm and alive. I would like to offer a few ideas about how this feels to me: One is that these centers run along this cord that is being held on both ends by the divine, ground and heaven. "Creation" is holding the string of pearls on each end, left hand right hand, equally pulling the tension into a state of balance. When I align this way, I feel a great lightness not just in my body, but in my energy centers as well. The practice of sitting in a lotus with the spine straight seems to be a symbolic act calling that balance in, like the pictures we see of a being sitting in the lotus with all chakras glowing equally. There is a moment of fear for me, when going into that state, because parts of me are very preoccupied with focusing energy into one center or another. Like being hunched over because of muscular pain and not wanting to straighten out for fear of triggering more pain. But, very much like that situation of feeling discomfort, once I take the step and straighten out, I feel a calm come over the whole system and there is no thought to pain. Again with the idea of grounding down to earth, to root, this is important, but then the idea of grounding up to "heaven" can be equally powerful. Doing one or the other too much seems to leave one imbalanced, too focused on physical life or on spiritual life. But if we are "grounding" equally up and down, this balance might be able to create the kind of living relaxation we are striving for. It's an advanced technique that I am just starting to understand the past few years, and I hope it will be of some use to those of you who have been working with either direction of grounding. Namaste and so much Love!

I think people should be focused on healing themselves right now, it's extremely important to find ones center and ground ones self in who they are on the inside :)

We hold a lot of emotional pain in our bodies, we carry a lot that we are not aware of.... We are all beautiful spirits, and if we open ourselves to seeing that, a lot of the things in this world seem to make more sense....
