Hello everyone, today I want to share with you the knowledge about an ancient culture and the event that is held today in my location.
About 500 meters from where I live there is a park called Itchimbia;
named by the Kitu-karas, it means "Sacred Hill of the Radiant Sun", this place was sacred for them, because is said that once, it existed a Intihuatana (for the kitu-karas) or a Yata Pajtá (for the incas),
wich was a ceremonial center to comune with the cosmos.
For the ancient cultures, the Intihuatana was a place where the sun rested, where the sun were "tied into" so it kept giving light and energy forever.
It also was an astronomical observatory wich allowed to know the best periods to plant and harvest the land.
As curiosity, in this place, during the equinoxes, at 12:00, the objects have no shadow, wich is a phenomena wich occurs in Ecuador, due to it geographical location.

So, who are the Kitu-Karas?
Part of them originate from the chibchas, wich became the kitus, and the other were migrating people from other places wich settled pacifically in the same living space, they are the Karas, with time they became one.
