In a song leaked online before its completion, pop artist Madonna sings about a “new world order” referring to a secret elite society as “the truth and the light”.
The track, entitled “Illuminati”, name checks dozens of celebrities and appears to suggest that they are not truly members of the secret society, which is considered by many to still exist and have a hand in major global events.
A recent trend has emerged among ‘artists’ such as Jay Z, Beyonce, Lady GaGa, and Rihanna to reference the illuminati and use symbolism and body language commonly associated with the shadowy group. This has culminated in speculation that the Illuminati is using pop culture to slowly acclimatize people to its existence, or simply as an underhanded way of showing the world they control the entertainment industry.
Madonna has herself previously adorned her live shows with Babylonian, Egyptian, and Sumerian symbolism, all co-opted and used by secret societies such as the Freemasons, the Rosicrucians and the Illuminati.
It is, of course, likely that Madonna and other pop stars are simply jumping on a bandwagon to garner increased attention and heightened buzz around their celebrity status. Indeed, the lyrics of the song seem to suggest this, but they also have a darker element, given the singer’s declaration of her belief in the Illuminati as the “truth and light”.

Acually it seems that Madonna is saying she and others are NOT part of the illuminati. I mean how did the original group illuminati be part of the occult/Satanism when in fact they are a group of intellectuals. The illuminati started during The Age of Enlightenment and Madonna even mentioned it in the song "It’s the enlightenment that started it all, the founding fathers wrote it down on the wall." So yeah the media just poisoned the group that don't even exsist today. That is what Madonna is right about.

The Illuminati is very real and they still operate today. They are known by many names and truthfully, does it really matter what "they're" called? The answer is no. But I do agree with what you said regarding it sounding as if she is saying they're not part of the Illuminati, I too felt the same way after reading the lyrics.
