    MICHAEL: you are somewhat correct. Actually the name stock market was originally derived "stocks of wood" known as a tally stick with notchings carved on it to mark debts owed to a debtor.  This system of recorded debts was introduced into England after the Norman invasion, and would be the basis for the start of the Bank of England. The sticks would be the original sources of currency used to finance the Bank of England's banking practices, along with gold and silver.  This hard-to-manipulate system would give way (with the proper people in political power, notably Henry VIII) to more "modern" financial practices, i.e. a counterfeiting scheme with relaxed usury and a currency based on notes printed and issued in outrageous excess numbers relative to amounts of gold, silver, and property (and the original worth of the tally sticks).

    This scam allowed bankers to buy property for pennies on the dollar once the scam was realized and everyone panicked.

    International banks are doing this same thing today, thanks to relaxation of banking constraints, such as the Glass-Steagall Act. The evidence is the current mortgage-backed security fraud, whereby one entire mortgage would be used as the security backing with MANY DIFFERENT investment vehicles.

    The song remains the same; the difference is that people and the media of today won't say anything for fear of being viewed as "kooky" or "conspiracy theorists." They'd rather keep their eyes focused on their IPods, because that's the cool thing to do.

    the bankster's bait and switch, their favorite of the manipuation on any asset values to barter with, to slice profit margin right down to forclose status as needed, so as to buy back at pennys to the dollar, only the common working people suffer, never the banksters for they created the laws that their goverment  job is to convince the people it is for their own good, what the bankster do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  it is a no brainer WHY THE MONEY CHANGERS ALWAYS steal, lie, and con people until they are broke and cannot pay off the loan with interest these banksters conned them to sign. when the time comes to jail them the banksters try to blackmail, bribe, LOANSHARK and lie to the goverments with promises never kept,SO AS to protect them banksters from the masses comming for them, AND THE SETUP SHOP BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT IN THAT COUNTRY, FOR THEN THAT GOVERMENT OF THOSE PEOPLE TELL THE MASSES THAT THESE BANKSTER'S SET UP SHOP AND EQUIPMENT IS OF THEIR NATIONAL INTEREST, OR OF NATIONAL SECURITY OF AND FOR THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.   I studied finance a long time ago, and there is no longer a consideration in today's investing world to such things as Debt-To-Equity ratios, time of turnovers of Accounts Receivables, excessive issuance of additional common stock (to raise cash), or even Price-Earnings ratios.

  EVERYTHING IS COMPUTER DRIVEN, either by "the plunge protection team," which is a combination of influential government personnel (and their off-shore bank associations/sponsors) that buy up stock at certain designated levels to prevent "melt-downs" (i.e. crashes) or by off-shore banks with computers that analyze statistical probabilities for big moves in individual stock prices, either up or down, and buy in and out at the blink of an eye, running away with a profit.

  The market no longer looks at value and buy-and-hold strategies. It looks at risk and the timing of risk instead. And this in turn leads to rigged markets, since risk is more easy to manipulate to ones advantage than the manipulating of balance sheets and accounting statements, as many an accounting firm learned in wake of past accounting firm scandals in the United States near the end of the 20th century.

  BEWARE OF ANY MAJOR STOCK MARKET MOVE UPWARD (i.e. a Dow Jones Industrial Average that rips past 20,000) WITH MAINSTREAM MEDIA ACCOLADES ASSURING THE PUBLIC THAT THIS IS PROOF THE ECONOMY IS FINE. Because the economy really sucks right now, as this may explain why the bankers of the west need a war of some kind so freaking bad to get out of the current debt mess they are in.
