I believe that he has a protection from not just earth sources, his work is so important. The dark side is losing its power rapidly, and before they killed people who opposed the system in any way, but now they can't do that anymore, as there are so many that are talking and doing things to expose their evil doings.
I also believe that Mr.Annett is genuine fighter for truth and justice, how could he be a double agent if he is exposing the very root of evil, what would be the purpose of it. I don't believe that dark side has suicidal intention.....
