Just heard from my Anonymous hive FB buddy that Anonymous is coming for the Zeitgeist movement. I don't have extra details because I haven't been on the IRC in forever, but apparently, the exposure of Zeitgeist is just getting started. I am part of Anonymous :) You're right, it isn't a group as such - it's an idea. Very linked in with the current Occupy movement. Anonymous is just one facet, a way for certain people to try and come together and make a difference, to stand up for what they believe is right. Of course, there are many paths to choose from; but it's so encouraging to see this movement and ideology spreading, taking on new forms and growing every day :)
