How to Get Back in Touch with a Lost Teacher

Its hard to explain but pretty much all my life, I've felt a presence like a guardian/teacher. Later on, after learning more about the reading of energy or presences. I had the feeling that this energy that has followed me around was a male Reptilian. I never sensed any danger from him, or any wrong doing and I feel as I am a Reptilian starseed. This presence, I've felt all my life and had developed a strong connection to him. Every night, he would be in my dreams, we would discuss things and he would mentor me. I also believe that I Astral Projected with him on several occasions. But just recently I have lost that connection with him and though there was a period of feeling relief and things was positive. I've become emotionally dead and almost in a depressed like state after a while of being away from that bond. I'm really missing that connection and don't know why I lost it. I feel the connection on and off but there seems to be a barrier of some sort stopping it from being like it was. Is there a way to regain that connection? I know this probably sounds crazy and Reptilians don't have the best reputations.

  Thank you, Tiamacious for the beautiful message! The analogy of being in school really helped. I've really been resistant to any others except him but since I was little, he was the only one that I knew. I think all that I need is time and I will be more welcoming to new guides.
