  Lavinia Ritkiss, a healer in Los Angeles, has been given a recipe for what

  Space Syrup
  
  
  2 tsp. diced fresh garlic
  3 T. olive oil
  5 T. pure clover honey
  1 T. apple cider vinegar
  ½ tsp. cayenne
  ¼ tsp. asafetida (optional)
  ¼ cup strong green tea, freshly made
  
  Sauté garlic in olive oil for 1 minute, then add other ingredients. Simmer
  and cook over low flame for 5 minutes. Let cool. Strain into glass jar.
  Cover and refrigerate. (Makes enough for a week with one teaspoon a day)

  I was interested in this and started looking around the internet for asafetida, and I discovered that the correct spelling is asafoetida, so we get lots more hits by using the second spelling.

  Also, in my research online, I found other names for asafoetida. In India it's called Hing, Hingu or Heeng and in another culture (I forget which one) it's named Peninkaya.

  Being the ever loving Internet snoop that I am, I decided to look up the healer Lavinia Ritkiss and see what was on the Net about her. I came up with this link and the same story is listed in this Newsletter which seems to be from 1995.
