Bankers take home third of nation’s £37bn bonusCity high-fliers took home bonuses worth 40 times more than public sector payouts, it emerged yesterday.Related Tags:Office for National StatisticsDave PrentisMervyn KingBank of EnglandAs it was revealed national bonuses rose to £37billion in the 12 months to April, finance and insurance staff pocketed an extra £12,000.Bankers bring home third of UK's £37billion bonus (Picture: File)The average payment to public sector employees was £300.While four per cent of the nation’s employees work in finance, the sector accounted for 36 per cent of bonuses.Private sector workers were handed an extra £1,700, according to the Office for National Statistics.‘It is a disgrace that the lure of big bonuses fuelled the recession and yet finance workers are still bringing home more in bonuses than many public workers get paid in a year,’ said Unison’s Dave Prentis.Bank of England governor Sir Mervyn King called on banks to reduce payouts and hoard cash.Average bonuses across the country rose three per cent to £1,400, with payouts in non-financial sectors close to their pre-recession peaks.Public sector bonuses were pushed up by part-nationalised banks, such as Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds.Excluding financial services, the average would have been £100.Behind the finance and insurance industries, miners enjoyed the second highest average bonus payments of £6,900, up nearly ten per cent.While the average City bonus was £1,500 lower than the previous 12 months, the TUC branded them ‘unacceptably high’.David Hillman, of the Robin Hood Tax campaign for a tax on financial transactions, claimed top bankers continued to ‘exist in a parallel universe to everyone else’.Read more: http://www.metro.co.uk/money/912651-bankers-take-home-third-of-nation-s-37bn-bonus#ixzz2728Fy7IT

    We need to find alternative ways of living ...money is man made to control people...the right way of living is caring and sharing... No money..no Banks...no Gangsters posing as Banksters.
    Here in London these Banksters are living it high.. there was a photo of them in Lap Dancing Clubs splashing it out...while ripping of common people.
