Scientists have been perplexed by the lack of iron, which is normally abundant in actual comets, or asteroids, along with nickel....Not so for devas...Like humans, they possess some blood iron, but the nickel content dominates their composition...

Avi Loeb is correct to suggest that there are at least 15 reasons for discounting 3I/Atlas, as a comet...Truth is, it's not a comet at all.....

Unusual Trajectory and Timing: The object's path is closely aligned with the ecliptic plane where the solar system planets orbit (a 0.2% likelihood of a random alignment), and its arrival time brought it close to Mars, Venus, and Jupiter while being unobservable from Earth at perihelion. This suggests a potentially designed trajectory rather than a random interstellar visitor.
A Persistent Sunward "Anti-tail": 3I/Atlas has displayed a prominent jet of material pointing toward the Sun (an "anti-tail") which is not an optical illusion, unlike similar features in familiar comets. This jet is consistently oriented toward the Sun, which Loeb suggests could be a technological deflector shield to protect an object from solar radiation.
Anomalous Chemical Composition: The gas plume contains much higher levels of nickel than iron, a ratio found in industrially produced alloys but never before seen in comets. The plume also contains only about 4% water by mass, much lower than the primary water content of typical comets, but a high proportion of carbon dioxide.
Peculiar Jet Geometry: Images from November 2025 show two straight, narrow, jet-like lines extending roughly one million kilometers on either side of the object, running perpendicular to the Sun-object axis. A natural, rotating comet would produce wiggled or broken patterns, not these perfectly straight lines.
Non-Gravitational Acceleration: The object exhibits non-gravitational acceleration, which requires massive evaporation for a natural comet, yet images indicate the object maintained its integrity and did not break apart. This could indicate propulsion, according to Loeb.
Extreme Polarization: The light from 3I/Atlas shows extreme negative polarization, a behavior unprecedented among known comets.
Rapid Brightening and Color: Near its closest approach to the Sun, it brightened faster than any known comet and appeared bluer than the Sun, which Loeb posits could indicate an internal power source or "engine" activating.
