  • Yes, such firelighting tools are always useful in survival situations. But you must remember to use tinder for your fire....It could be wood shavings, in small dry amounts, to get the sparks to set fire to larger pieces of dry wood, which you feed the fire with...
Yes tinder boxes that produce sparks are better than matches...Especially if it's windy...A match can be blown out in one gust of wind, but the sparks will be great firestarters...But in general, select a site for your camp, out of the wind....Maybe using a windbreak, which is natural, or one erected, for the camp...Even a tarp or poncho, may help....

  • Oh, sorrry about that Judith....Yes it can be annoying when a YT vid is freely available in one country and not viewable in another...It seems to make a mockery of the concept of an INTERnet... Anyway, cheers dear....Drekx ;-)
  • Incredibly talented violinist. Really enjoyed her as well.:):)
  • Drekx, video not available to view in the US. Judithfaye66
  • Thanks for sharing this video on Darci Lynne. Quite a talent. :)
  • Winter survival tip....I could give many here, but one really good one, that many forget, is the need to avoid "fire breaks" between forest areas, while walking up mountains, with crampons and ice picks...Such areas make for avalanche runs...and anybody can be swept up and thrown, like a rag doll, down a mountain...

I'll include a pretty good re-enactment of a true story, for additional learning....
It's about a solo tourist who visits Transylvania in the deep snows of winter, to climb a particular mountain and makes the mistake of not keeping to the tree line.....Recommended viewing for all interested in survival tips...

  • In the really cold regions of Russia, Skandanavia and Canada, the locals like to naked dip in freezing water, followed by rolling around in the snow, to absorb the wet and make the body dry (like blotting paper,) then quickly race back to a warm cabin, to put clothes back on...

This is good for blood circulation, but I have never tried it, myself....Seems uncomfortable, but people who do this, claim it feels warm, as circulation heats the body up, in response....😉

Starseed, Elina Bakunova from Russia, speaks about this practice, here...It's a traditional epiphany bathing ritual...

  • Well I would avoid Tick Tock if I were you, it is full of drama and silliness, with Chinese intel data collation..
Most hypnosis is conducted on a totally relaxed and willing subject.....You should be able to resist it with a strong will and alert mind, free of fear...
  • You asked about weaponry in a survival situation...I can recommend a German chappy calling his channel JoergSprave.....His "slingshot channel."
He has numerous videos on a variety of multi-shot crossbows (ha, like Van Helsing) knives, longbows and slingshots....
He has both a German instruction and English.....You might find it useful, if you are researching weapons....My advice is to practice a lot, though.....
In Germany you have differing self-defense laws to England.....So it will be your choice...

This channel is all about launchers. Most of them are powered by rubber, a fascinating material that converts muscle energy into kinetic energy! Bu…
  • Yes, without a compass, if at night and it's clear, you locate the pole star, Polaris, which shows north....So from that compass reference, you can orientate you map correctly to the compass points...
So, look for Ursa Major, the "great bear," note the "pointer stars" on the right of the image linked and follow up to Polaris, when on location....I'll show a star constellation map....Like Orion, this constellation is easy to locate, with it's seven stars.....;-)
