  An interesting list of facts surrounding the production problems....I also read that Brando was so overweight, they had to dress him in black and get careful camera angles and as you say, cast him mostly in shadow...He still delivered great lines and I think of Marlon Brando as one of the movie greats of the last century....I especially like his part played in the Last Tango in Paris (1972.) ...Great acting and storyline, as well as the superb jazz compositions of 'Gato' Barbieri..✅✅✅

  Coppala had problems with the phillipino gov/military trying to arrange times and places for filming-he wrote the script on the fly, changing the dialouge daily-you know the script is based on 'The Heart of Darkness' -

  Yup, a great movie, released in '79....I subscribe to Sky satellite, so recorded "Apocalypse Now" digitally, yesterday, on the "Film4" channel...And just had to post that amazing score...The Doors were certainly one of the best pop groups, from the 1960s..
  All those chopper scenes in the movie....and you mentioning the drone mania in my own country, with snooping councils, etc....Seemed to correlate well..😉
